  • Patent number: 7782582
Abstract: An electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection circuit includes an NPN transistor having a collector terminal connected to a voltage source and an emitter terminal connected to the ground via a diode. The NPN transistor includes a base terminal for receiving a base current to turn on the NPN transistor to allow an electrostatic discharge at the voltage source to flow through the NPN transistor to the ground. The ESD protection circuit further includes a PMOS transistor having a source terminal coupled to the voltage source and a drain terminal coupled to the base terminal of the NPN transistor. The PMOS transistor includes a gate terminal for receiving a first and a second gate voltage. The ESD protection circuit further includes an R-C circuit coupled between the source voltage and the ground.

  • Patent number: 7671509
Abstract: A permanent magnet electric generator includes a rotor assembly and a stator assembly. The rotor assembly has axially disposed annular outer and inner rings concentric with an axis of rotation. A plurality of magnets is disposed on the outer ring, each magnet having a north pole and a south pole. The permanent magnets are aligned with the axis of rotation, and adjacent magnets have alternating polarity. The stator assembly includes a plurality of stator blocks aligned to form an annular ring-shaped stator member retained by a stator frame. The stator member is configured to be at least partially disposed inside the rotor assembly and is circumferentially encircled by the rotor assembly.

  • Patent number: 7592736
Abstract: A permanent magnet electric generator includes a housing, and a stator and a rotor assembly disposed inside the housing. The rotor assembly has annular inner and outer rings concentric with the axis of rotation. A plurality of permanent magnets is distributed on the inner surface of the outer ring. The stator assembly includes a plurality of stator blocks configured to form an annular ring-shaped stator member. The stator member is concentric with the axis of rotation and is interposed between the inner and outer rings such that the outer ring circumferentially encircles the stator member. The stator member is wound with a three-phase winding for a three-phase voltage output.

  • Patent number: 7460437
Abstract: A method and system for seismic data processing utilizes azimuthal variations in the velocity of seismic signals. The system and method utilizes a plurality of seismic energy sources that are located at known positions at the surface of the earth. The seismic energy sources generate seismic signals that propagate downward into the earth. Some of the seismic signals are reflected and diffracted by various sub-surface layers and are returned to the surface of the earth. The returned seismic signals are received by a plurality of receivers. The method includes the step of determining the distance from an energy source to an image point. A fast travel time of the seismic signal from the energy source to the image point is determined, and a slow travel time of the seismic signal from the energy source to the image point is determined. The azimuth angle between the energy source and the surface location of the image point is calculated.

  • Patent number: 7440525
Abstract: A system and method for enhancing the dynamic range of a receiver without degrading the signal to noise ratio of an incoming signal is disclosed. In one embodiment, an enhanced dynamic range receiver for receiving an incoming signal and processing the incoming signal comprises a plurality of VGAs alternately connected in series with a plurality of equalizers to form a VGA-equalizer chain, the VGA-equalizer chain adapted to receive the incoming signal and operable to generate a first analog signal, a first PD adapted to receive the first analog signal and operable to adjust the equalizers' coefficient values, and a second PD adapted to receive a second analog signal from a selected node in the VGA-equalizer chain and operable to adjust the gain of the VGAs.

  • Patent number: 7428653
Abstract: An alternate multi-thread pipeline structure and method are provided. A deep pipeline is provided in which two threads of two separate pipeline stages are alternatively presented to the various logic and latch circuits for execution. The execution and latching of the threads alternates from one thread to the other within a single clock cycle. Thus, each thread is executed once per clock cycle and two threads are executed in a single clock cycle.

  • Patent number: 6603955
Abstract: A web-based mission certification quiz for educating various persons involved in a fundraising campaign is disclosed. A web-based method for educating solicitors, donors, participants and others involved in a fundraising campaign about the campaign's mission includes providing, on a website, information about the campaign's mission, taking, on the website, a mission certification quiz by answering one or more questions, wherein the questions are designed to test a participant's knowledge about the campaign's mission. The method further includes determining a final score based on the number of correct answers, and creating a mission certificate on the website based on the final score.
