  • Patent number: 8180077
Abstract: A medical grade stereo system is disclosed. The stereo system may include a housing with faceplates where a user interface and connectors mounted to the faceplates form fully sealed interfaces sealing the housing interior from the environment. A shielding enclosure and shielded components provide a system that may limit radio frequency emissions. A power supply supplying power to the system may limit current leakage to less than 300 microamperes. A hospital grade A/C power cord and electrical plug connect the system to a room's electrical line. Additionally, the system may include an internally formed interface for a satellite tuner adaptor cable connection connecting a satellite tuner to a stereo receiver hub entirely within the housing and enclosure.

  • Patent number: 8152449
Abstract: A vacuum generator seal can comprise an upstream annular cavity adjacent to the upstream side of the bearing, a downstream annular cavity adjacent to the downstream side of the bearing, and at least one drain slot positioned on the upstream side of the bearing housing. The vacuum generator seal can include a retainer that at least partially defines the upstream annular cavity. The retainer may be in contact with the bearing housing and may have a tight clearance with the impeller hub. The retainer along with a supply of grease packed within the annular cavities can seal the bearing; and the drain slot can direct water and waste away from the bearing and towards the scroll.

  • Patent number: 8154887
Abstract: An electric power supply system includes a transformer having two primary windings for receiving input power and a secondary winding for delivering output power, in which the primary windings are galvanically isolated from each other. A method for supplying electrical power to a load includes magnetically coupling a first primary voltage to a secondary power output; and magnetically coupling a second primary voltage to the secondary power output so that the second primary voltage is kept galvanically isolated from the first primary voltage.

  • Patent number: 8148848
Abstract: The present invention provides an electrical power distribution system that includes a first primary distribution panel (PDP) connected to a first source of electrical power and a second PDP connected to a second source of electrical power. The second PDP is connected to the first PDP by a conductor. A first solid state power controller (SSPC) receives signals corresponding to the flow of current through the first PDP to a load. A second SSPC receives signals corresponding to the flow of current between the first PDP and the second PDP. The first and second SSPC protect the electrical power distribution system from a variety of fault conditions.

  • Patent number: 8134344
Abstract: A variable frequency generator regulation control circuit and method for controlling open loop gain under changing generator speed conditions employing a high frequency pulse-width modulated signal with a duty cycle that is controlled such that variations in rectified PMG voltage and generator gain over the generator speed range can be compensated for. This signal is modulated by a low frequency pulse-width modulated signal provided by the generator regulator, using a logic gate to produce a combined signal representing an average voltage signal applied to a generator field winding as the generator speed fluctuates.

  • Patent number: 8134268
Abstract: A high speed aircraft generator may utilize a prefabricated crossover subassembly to interconnect field coils. The crossover may include two attachment leads interconnected with a section of braided wire. The braided wire may remain free of brazing filler metal after the crossover subassembly is brazed into position between field coils of the generator. Consequently, the crossover may remain flexible and may have reduced susceptibility to fatigue failure that may otherwise result from circumferential relative displacement of the field coils from one another during changes of rotational speed of the field coils.
