Abstract: A folding sluice box assembly includes a plurality of generally U-sectioned trough segments having their end portions nested in size progression and hinged to each other to form an overlap of the received portion and the receiving portion. A deformation in the bottom surface of a received portion is aligned on full pivotal extension for mating receipt in a conforming bottom surface opening in the receiving portion, thus interlocking of the assembly into its working configuration. When thus extended the edge of a resilient mat positioned on the bottom surface of the receiving segment abuts the edge of the received segment to effect a substantial seal therewith.
Abstract: A putter club head is provided with an elongate cavity communicating to the exterior through a rectangular opening in the striking face thereof spaced above the club head lower surface so that the portion of the club head between the cavity opening and the lower surface forms a lower shielding structure to deflect any plant growth in the path of a putting stroke. A conforming cylindrical roller is then mounted for rotation within the cavity to provide a ball striking surface on its periphery generally elevated above the bottom surface to a height corresponding to the elevation of the contact periphery of a golf ball resting thereon. In this manner little or no spin is imparted to the ball when struck by the roller since the lower club surface shields the roller from any moments imparted by the growth covering the green.
Abstract: A rolling resistance producing apparatus is tethered to trail behind a person includes a longitudinally aligned fabric panel stretched on a frame which also engages the rear end of an elastomeric band that is stretched through a sheath formed in the panel to engage a harness tied to selected limbs of the person to provide resistance thereto. The trailing end of the frame is supported on a wheel to follow the person as she or he are moving. A measurement system sensing the movement of the wheel then records the rate of the movement to provide an indication of fatigue.
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner attachment useful to collect dispersed packing particulates and the like comprises a thin-walled polymeric enclosure defined by a plurality of generally planar panels surrounding at their free edges a receiving opening through which the particulates are collected by the vacuum draw against a perforated screening structure. As the particulates accumulate in the enclosure the large pressure drop across the outer ranks thereof produces inward pressure forces across the panels, resulting in the inward flexures thereof to assist in the retention of the particulates in the enclosure as it is moved over a collection receptacle.
Abstract: A tool for installing a retainer ring onto the lower portion of a loosely inserted drain fitting for engaging a mounting flange thereto includes a generally resilient cup structure provided with a plurality of axially aligned and resiliently cantilevered peripherally adjacent strips within which the retaining ring is received in a compressed engagement seated on a helical interior shoulder. A threaded rod extends through a centering plug received in the drain fitting and then through the cup interior to axially advance the axially aligned ring carried by the strips.
Abstract: A self-checking anchor bolt suspension assembly includes an array of suspension segments each including equally sized openings distributed in a spaced relationship therein for engaging in suspension resilient tubular caps provided with annular tapered cavities communicating through annular apertures at the lower ends thereof. The aperture size and the cavity taper are selected so that the threaded shank of an anchor bolt of only a singular dimensional increment is receivable and resiliently grasped therein and the caps are each color coded in accordance with the shank size of the bolt. In this manner the color coding provides a quick visual assurance that only the properly sized anchor bolts are deployed for immersion into the poured concrete.
Abstract: A putter club head is provided with an elongate cavity communicating to the exterior through a rectangular opening in the striking face thereof spaced above the club head lower surface that forms a lower shielding structure to deflect any growth in the course of a putting stroke. A conforming tubular segment is then mounted for rotation within the cavity to expose a portion of its peripheral surface beyond the plane of the striking face generally elevated above the bottom surface to a height corresponding to the elevation of the contact periphery of a golf ball resting thereon. In this manner little or no spin is imparted to the ball when struck by the roller since the lower club surface shields the roller from any moments imparted by the growth covering the green.
Abstract: A pair of generally linear templates each includes one vertical edge convolved in substantially identical stepped convolutions that are each respectively conformed to support the lower end edges of an array of lapboards on the exterior of a building wall structure. Each of the templates include a set of laterally offset attachment brackets provided with spring opposed fasteners that are useful to temporarily secure the templates to the wall structure at a securement interval that is greater than the span of the lapboards, thus exposing the lapboard ends for their proper alignment as the lapboards are affixed to the wall structure.
Abstract: A heat pump circuit is installed into the inner cavity of a chimney venting the combustion gases of a burner servicing a dwelling with the exterior heat pump coil mounted in an annular gap formed around the upper chimney end. A fan driven by the chimney draft augmented by the burner then rotates an exterior rank of blade segments above the annular space to draw ambient air across the exterior coil. A set of gated apertures in the chimney wall both above and below the flue damper then directs zoned airflows up into the chimney and across the inner coil that is deployed at the lower interior chimney opening with the air heated in a chamber surrounding the burner either selectively routed into the chimney to further increase the chimney draft or routed into the dwelling for warmth.
Abstract: A self-checking anchor bolt suspension assembly includes an array of suspension segments color coded in accordance with the size of the bolt suspending openings formed therein. The threaded shaft of the appropriate anchor bolt is inserted into the properly spaced opening and then grasped in the interior of a resilient split-tube retainer that then rests on the edges around the opening to suspend the bolt therefrom. The segments are then nailed to the concrete form and their correct color code assures the correct bolt selection.
Abstract: A razor blade holder includes a slotted housing for removably retaining a razor blade therewithin. The housing accommodates at least one magnet. The housing is used conjointly with a keeper having a magnet affixed thereto. The housing and keeper, in use, sandwich a portion of a garment therebetween to provide easy and safe access to a razor blade. The magnets used herein are preferably neodymium magnets. Also, the present invention is particularly adapted for use with a single edge razor.
Abstract: An irrigated personal care structure defined by a resilient, hollow handle terminating in a mounting interface conformed to selectively engage a transverse razor head provided with a slot wherein razor blades are mounted and exposed to the water flow conveyed through the handle or a hollow brush head similarly irrigated by the water flow. The surfaces of the handle subjacent the interface folded into adjacent accordion folds which in response to pressure pulses in the handle articulate the article mounted on the interface. Either a pulsating shower head branched from the water flow to the handle or a water pulsing mechanism directly in the flow provide the necessary pressure fluctuations.
Abstract: Apparatus for inducing electrically charged alignment changes in biological tissue includes a generally flat translucent cavity containing a volume of gas that includes water vapor, carbon dioxide and other similarly common molecules that is charged along one surface by a sequence of pulses of electrical charge each of a potential sufficient to excite the common molecules to a higher state. The opposite side of the cavity is then conformed for intimate contact with the skin of a person, thus communicating the right hand spin electromagnetic pulses associated with each excitation level change into the tissue. A pulsed coil is then provided in an alignment generally parallel to the plane of the cavity to polarize the clockwise electromagnetic emissions associated with the changes in the excitation states.
Abstract: A respiration hood assembly is effected from a thin-walled headpiece nested within the periphery of a mating exterior housing that includes a filtered aperture. The nested engagement between the headpiece and the housing is also useful in capturing one edge of a plastic membrane skirt that is thus suspended to drape over the person wearing the headpiece. A battery powered electric fan is deployed within the housing to draw ambient air through the vent aperture into the space shrouded by the skirt. The nested headpiece arrangement is useful in retaining other fibrous towels or tissue to extend the usefulness of the assembly and a parallel connection is provided to a motor vehicle battery to extend the period of electrical excitation.
Abstract: A support assembly useful in supporting a plumbing fixture in the course of effecting connections thereto includes a base provided with a vertical tube segment supporting a nut assembly threadably engaged to a rod partly received in the segment with the upper rod end supporting an adapter conformed to the supported fixture. An offset bar fixed to the rod exterior engages a lateral recess on the segment to fix the rod in rotation as the nut assembly is turned. The assembly may include rods of differing lengths and adapters of various forms.
