Abstract: A putter club head is provided with an elongate cavity communicating to the exterior through a rectangular opening in the striking face thereof spaced above the club head lower surface so that the portion of the club head between the cavity opening and the lower surface forms a lower shielding structure to deflect any plant growth in the path of a putting stroke. A conforming cylindrical roller is then mounted for rotation within the cavity to provide a ball striking surface on its periphery generally elevated above the bottom surface to a height corresponding to the elevation of the contact periphery of a golf ball resting thereon. In this manner little or no spin is imparted to the ball when struck by the roller since the lower club surface shields the roller from any moments imparted by the growth covering the green.

Abstract: A self-checking anchor bolt suspension assembly includes an array of suspension segments color coded in accordance with the size of the bolt suspending openings formed therein. The threaded shaft of the appropriate anchor bolt is inserted into the properly spaced opening and then grasped in the interior of a resilient split-tube retainer that then rests on the edges around the opening to suspend the bolt therefrom. The segments are then nailed to the concrete form and their correct color code assures the correct bolt selection.
Abstract: A heat pump circuit is installed into the inner cavity of a chimney venting the combustion gases of a burner servicing a dwelling with the exterior heat pump coil mounted in an annular gap formed around the upper chimney end. A fan driven by the chimney draft augmented by the burner then rotates an exterior rank of blade segments above the annular space to draw ambient air across the exterior coil. A set of gated apertures in the chimney wall both above and below the flue damper then directs zoned airflows up into the chimney and across the inner coil that is deployed at the lower interior chimney opening with the air heated in a chamber surrounding the burner either selectively routed into the chimney to further increase the chimney draft or routed into the dwelling for warmth.

The assembly may include rods of differing lengths and adapters of various forms.
Abstract: A portable alarm system includes a cigarette lighter socket mount which is useful to deploy a flexible beam structure in cantilever. An electrical board mounted eccentrically from the other end of the beam structure then provides the torsional and bending motions that are inducted in the course of illegal entry, these motions then being sensed by tank circuits connected to corresponding comparators. The output of each comparator is then combined in a logical AND and OR combination that is manually selected by a switch to turn on a sending unit that then communicates with a remote device like a pager.
Abstract: An array of cooperating parts useful to form a water ballasted satellite dish antenna mount includes a hollow base container provided with an annulus into which an adjustable mount is keyed and inserted. Once inserted an end mounting post on the mount is aligned to a vertical alignment with the assistance of a bubble level in the post end to support the dish antenna thereon. The base container further includes a magnetic compass on the upper surface thereof with the compass azimuth markings then repeated on the mount. The base container and the mount further include engagement devices for attaching the base and the mount to each other when disassembled.
Abstract: A mammalian protein, like the human serum transferrin (HST), is modified with an inserted peptide sequence flanked at both ends by cleavage sites. The peptide insert contains a motif known to induce apoptosis in cells and the cleavage sites are specific for the viral protease of HIV-1. The delivery of such recombinant transferrin into an HIV-1 infected cell results in the release of the peptide which then induces apoptosis. The peptide is inserted into surface exposed loops of the N-terminal lobe of the HST containing the RGD motif flanked by two modified p17/p24 HIV-1 protease cleavage sites. When delivered to the infected cell the cleavage of the loop inserted sequences by the HIV-1 protease results in the release of the central RGD-containing peptide sequences. Peptides containing the RGD motif (arginine, glycine, aspartic acid) have been shown to induce cell apoptosis even in small concentrations.
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed in which a pocket pager or other data transmission device of conventional design is used to disable remotely the operation of an electrical device or the starting sequence of a motor vehicle. More precisely, the radio device is connected to pull open a latching relay in the power circuit, like the ignition circuit of the vehcle or the electric power connection and once the pager receives its code all further re-starts are disabled. The vehicle or device thus remains inoperative, and the relay then remains latched open until reset by a concealed push-to-close momentary switch. Alternatively, a second code combination may be transmitted to reset the relay. In application, the signal to the pager will first be preceded by a telephone call from the leasing, financing or rental agency to a telephone number designated by the user, and if the response to this phone call is unsatisfactory only then is the pager disabling sequence effected.
Abstract: An evacuated enclosure is provided around a circular cutter to collect the cutting dust produced while forming inspection apertures in insulation cladding. The enclosure includes an upper and lower coaxial chamber, the upper chamber provided with an air pump geared to a rotary shaft from a hand tool that also extends into the lower chamber. The hole cutter at the end of the shaft is then advanced through the insulation cladding by the advancement of the shaft through the cover, and the withdrawal stroke removes the cut pluc from the hale cutter while a spray of fixative is released into the enclosure. This fixative coats the loose strands on the plug exterior and also collects on the filter elements, to fix hazardous dust like asbestos from dispersal. The assembly may be combined with a portable power unit which may also include a vacuum device to augment the air draw across the filter.
