  • Patent number: 6371646
Abstract: A bulk bag or a liner for a bulk container is formed from a plurality of tubular blanks of flexible material so that each wall of the bag or liner has at least two layers of material. Desirably, many woven or plastic sheet materials suitable to make such bags or liners are available in elongate and circumferentially continuous tubular webs such that a plurality of liners or bags may be formed connected in end to end relation on an elongate web. In one form, a pair of gusseted tubular blanks are disposed between and sealed to a pair of overlying flat tubular blanks to define a liner or bag having two layers of material in each wall. In another form, a pair of tubular blanks are folded so that each tubular blank defines one flat panel and one gusseted panel and the tubular blanks are heat sealed along a pair of side edges of the liner or bag to also define a liner or bag having two layers of material in each wall.

  • Patent number: 6364216
Abstract: A connector having an elongated, multi-chamber, corrosion resistant, insulating, plastic housing provides for connecting a flexible power cable to equipment associated with a fixed device. One end of the housing is bolted to the fixed device. The opposite end and a central location of the housing have entrances for receiving bushings that may have a flexible power cable connected thereto. A floating adapter bushing is located between the busing and a recess in order to accommodate thermal expansion and contraction which may occur between equipment carrying the adapter and recess. The housing may include a vacuum interrupter or other suitable device. A plurality of the housings may be stacked together in order to provide for making combinations of selected parts and cables on a basis of unique requirements at a specific location.

  • Patent number: 6363696
Abstract: An automatic packaging machine for forming and filling a latching flip-top box uses a two part mandrel which are joined by a hinge. One of the two hinged parts has a roller thereon for following a cam track having a quarter turn spiral therein. As the roller follows the spiral causing one hinged part to move through a quarter turn causing the flip-top to fold over and be formed. A somewhat loose tab on the top edge of the bottom of the box is a latch tab which is caught when the flip-top folds over.

  • Patent number: 6360437
Abstract: In an electrical contact having a contacting portion to be brought into contact with and electrically connected with a terminal member, the contact comprises a metallic body having a body surface and a metallic plated layer formed on the body surface of at least the contacting portion. The metallic plated layer has hard conductive particles dispersed in the layer in order to enable to remove contamination from a surface of the terminal member when the contacting surface is brought into contact with the terminal member. The surface layer has an irregular surface due to presence of the hard conductive particles dispersed therein. When the contacting portion is brought into contact with the terminal member, the contamination is removed by irregular surface.

  • Patent number: 6358213
Abstract: An automated sphygmomanometer which utilizes quality algorithms to stop any further analysis at various points during a blood pressure determination because of corrupted data. If the data is so corrupted that giving blood pressure numbers is inappropriate, this is recognized and the determination stopped. The quality algorithms make a decision to get more data with the hope of improving the blood pressure estimation. The request for data occurs both before and/or after a curve fitting process, if such a process is utilized. Some information is also provided to the cuff pressure control function about which pressure levels would be best for gathering the additional data. The quality algorithms are also used to make a decision as to whether it is appropriate to publish the blood pressure values obtained. Control parameters (weights) may be set within the blood pressure algorithm to help with other aspects of the NIBP algorithm and improve the quality of the final published numbers.
