Abstract: In a connector in which a conductive contacting portion (33) is supported by a spring portion (26) to be elastically movable in a first direction (28) and a second direction (29) perpendicular to the first direction, the contacting portion has a contact point (27) maintained in a specific condition such that the contact point is offset from a predetermined position in the second direction. The contact point is formed at its one end to be brought into contact with a mating object (17) in the first direction at the predetermined position. When the contacting portion is moved in a direction opposite to the first direction, the specific condition is released.

Abstract: A dielectric loaded cavity filter having a housing and a cover and defining at least two adjacent cavities having respective dielectric resonators mounted therein and separated by a transverse partition defining a coupling window in the housing. In one form, the coupling window has two spaced opposing sidewalls confronting each other, and vertically offset shoulders intermediate their length. A conductive coupling strip is secured to the shoulder of one sidewall and extends across the coupling window and over the shoulder of the other sidewall. A tuning screw is secured by threading to the housing and has an outer free end accessible from the exterior of the filter, and an internal end disposed adjacent the coupling strip, whereby when the tuning screw is rotated, the internal end of the screw moves toward and away from the coupling strip in a direction perpendicular to the cover for tuning without requiring access to the coupling strip.
Abstract: The present invention provides a transmission line structure comprising: a dielectric substrate having first and second surfaces; a signal conductive layer selectively provided on the first surface of the dialectic substrate for signal transmission; at least a first non-signal conductive layer being selectively provided on the first surface of the dialectic substrate, and the at least first non-signal conductive layer being separated from the signal conductive layer; and a second non-signal conductive layer being provided on the second surface of the dialectic substrate, wherein the dielectric substrate has at least a conductive region extending in contact with only one of the at least first non-signal conductive layer and the second non-signal conductive layer so that the at least conductive region is separated by the dielectric substrate from remaining one of the first non-signal conductive layers and the second non-signal conductive layer in view of a vertical direction to the first and second surfaces of
Abstract: A composition is prepared by extracting phytochemicals from plant matter. This composition is enriched preferably in isoflavones, lignans, saponins, catechins and phenolic acids. Soy is the preferred source of these chemicals; however, other plants may also be used, such as red clover, kudzu, flax, and cocoa. The composition is a dietary supplement for treatment of various cancers, pre- and post-menstrual syndromes, and various other disorders.
Abstract: A safe, non-toxic pet toy is provided which is adapted to be placed within the cage of a small captive animal. The pet toy is formed of materials which may be safely ingested by a small animal so that an animal may safely peck, chew, or gnaw on the toy. The toy is made of paper pulp molded to form a three dimensional representation of an object. A dye may be incorporated into the paper pulp to color the object or a non-toxic ink may be applied to a surface of the object to provide a more enticing and realistic appearance.
Abstract: A composition is prepared by extracting and isolating phytochemical fractions from plant matter for treatment for neurological conditions and especially for migraine headaches, inflammations, dementia, and Alzheimer's Disease. The composition is enriched, preferably with two or more different fractions, namely: isoflavones, lignans, saponins and saponogenins, catechins, and phenolic acids. The two selected fractions are different from each other and are combined specifically to form a composition to treat a neurological condition. Soy is the preferred source of these phytochemicals; however, other plants may also be used, such as wheat, psyllium, rice, oats, red clover, kudzu, alfalfa, flax, and cocoa. The composition may be delivered in an easy to use or consume form, such as cream, pills, tablets, capsules, pellets, dry powder, health bars, food ingredients and supplements, soft gels, and the like.
Abstract: A machine for washing containers comprises a base structure and a plurality of brushes mounted able to rotate on the base structure to clean the outer surface of the containers. Also provided are grip organs in the form of jaws movable between an open position and a closed position and fitted with rollers interposed between the grip organs and the neck of the container. The rollers are mounted idle about an axis of rotation to generate sliding elements and allow the rotation of the container itself through the rotary action of the brushes.
Abstract: A blood clot filtering system including an anchor which is permanently affixed in a blood vessel, and a filter which is removably attached to the anchor.

Abstract: A semiconductor device is provided with a plurality of hetero junction bipolar transistors arranged in a specified direction. Also, the semiconductor device comprises emitter wiring connected to each emitter of the plural hetero junction bipolar transistors, collector wiring connected to each collector of said plural hetero junction bipolar transistors, and base wiring connected to at least one base of said plural hetero junction bipolar transistors. Bases that are not connected to the base wiring among the bases of the plural hetero junction bipolar transistors are connected to the emitter wiring.
Abstract: A liquid crystal display having a wide viewing angle and easily manufactured. The liquid crystal display comprises an upper substrate and a lower substrate, and a liquid crystal material disposed between the upper substrate and the lower substrate. The liquid crystal display has a conductive protrusion disposed on the surface of the upper substrate opposing to the lower substrate. The conductive protrusion is disposed over a scanning electrode line or a signal electrode line and has the same potential as that of the upper electrode. As another structure, each of pixel electrodes on the lower substrate has a smaller area than that of a common electrode on the upper substrate and is covered by the common electrode, and each of the pixel electrodes comprises an electrode portion having approximately symmetrical shape.
Abstract: A composite nonwoven fabric comprising multiple, layers of a web formed from a blended mixture of metal fibers and nonmetal fibers is provided. The metal fibers preferably have a rough outer surface with irregular shaped cross-sections that vary along their length. The fibers of adjacent layers of the web material are interengaged in a needlepunching step. The composite nonwoven fabrics of the invention, which have very good isotropic strength. In a preferred embodiment, the composite nonwoven fabric is employed as a floor buffing pad for use with an electric floor buffing apparatus.
Abstract: In a connector having a housing (4) and a plurality of contacts (3) held by the housing, first and second ground plates (5,9) are placed between adjacent ones of the contacts to intersect with to each other. A first contacting portion (11) is formed integral with the first ground plate and is for bringing at least one of the first and the second ground plates into contact with at least one of the contacts. The first and the second ground plates are brought into contact with to each other through a second contacting portion (12) formed integral with the second ground plate. The first contacting portion may be formed integral with the second ground plate. The second contacting portion may be formed integral with the first ground plate.
