Abstract: The invention relates to a catalyst arrangement in an exhaust gas after-treatment system of an internal combustion engine comprising an exhaust gas line in which an SCR catalyst is positioned in the direction of flow of the exhaust gas. A reducing agent production system has an NOx and CO/H2 production unit and a combined NOx storage/ammonia production unit in the standard gas-carrying path of the reducing agent production system which supplies ammonia as the reducing agent. The NOx and CO/H2 production unit is at least temporarily supplied via a fuel supply and an air supply with starting products for producing ammonia. The combined NOx storage/ammonia production unit has a plurality catalyst sections having different characteristic properties or functionalities, enabling a higher ammonia yield in the combined NOx storage/ammonia production unit.

Abstract: A device for producing Lyocell fibers which are extruded from a cellulose solution of water, cellulose and tertiary amine oxide in a spinning head (25). The cellulose solution is obtained in a number of process steps directly from the cellulose (3, 4) or with the formation of a cellulose suspension. Since the degree of polymerization decreases in the course of processing the cellulose through to its extrusion in the cellulose solution, with the processing of celluloses with a low degree of polymerization there is the risk that the endless molded bodies (2) extruded in the spinning head (25) exhibit defective quality.

Abstract: A light fixture includes a solid state light emitter having first and second light-emitting portions configured to emit first and second portions of the light, respectively. The light fixture also includes a reflector having a first reflective surface positioned in the path of the light and including a first substantially parabolic section configured to reflect the first portion of the light, and a second substantially parabolic section adjacent the first substantially parabolic section and configured to reflect the second portion of the light. The second substantially parabolic section has a focal length greater than that of the first substantially parabolic section. The light fixture also includes a stray light reflector having a second reflective surface facing the first reflective surface. The first reflective surface reflects a part of the light toward the stray light reflector, and the stray light reflector is configured to reflect the part of the light.

In one embodiment, the industrial absorbent includes a first scrim made from at least one thermoplastic material; a second scrim made from at least one thermoplastic material; and a middle layer positioned between the first and second scrims. The middle layer includes a dry-laid web of fire-retardant treated cellulose and opened, individuated staple bicomponent fiber. At least some of the bicomponent fiber in the middle layer is thermally bonded to at least some of the cellulose in the middle layer, and the first and second scrims are thermally bonded to the middle layer.

Abstract: A method of controlling an HVAC system including programming a thermostat of the HVAC system to define a temperature set point, a temperature differential around the temperature set point, and a number of cycles per hour for a temperature control source of the HVAC system. The method also includes sensing a temperature, executing a cycling control algorithm that includes the temperature, the temperature set point, and the number of cycles per hour as inputs to determine a duty cycle, and running the temperature control source according to the duty cycle when the temperature is within the temperature differential. The method further includes executing a deadband algorithm to turn on the temperature control source when the temperature is outside of the temperature differential at one extreme and to turn off the temperature control source when the temperature is outside the temperature differential at the opposite extreme.

Abstract: A turbine replacement unit for replacement of at least one double runner horizontal submersible installation for a hydroelectric plant including at least one submerged coupling and at least one submerged bearing supported by a submerged bearing pedestal in which each of the two runners discharge a flow into a common draft tube. The replacement unit includes a single runner positioned to replace each of the two runners, the single runner receiving a flow and discharging the flow into the existing common draft tube. A dry pit assembly is positioned to surround the submerged pedestal and define an air space around the submerged pedestal and an oil-flooded bearing is positioned on the pedestal to replace the submerged bearing. A shaft supports the runner for rotation and is at least partially supported for rotation by the oil-flooded bearing. A generator is coupled to the shaft and is operable to produce an electrical power in response to rotation of the shaft.
