  • Patent number: 8292523
Abstract: A padded protective cup shaped covering sized to slip over a camera lens is disclosed. The covering is designed to fit on either the front portion of the lens or the lens mount. The protective covering has beveled side walls which allow it to fit easily on a variety of different lenses. The protective covering is made from two separate layers of material, an outer cup made from a firm yet flexible material, and the inner liner made from a soft pliable material. The soft inner liner allows the covering to easily adhere to the camera lens, and also provides impact protection. The outer cup provides additional impact protection. The outer cup also includes a domed top portion which provides a crumple zone or impact bumper. In one embodiment the outer cup has a clear optical grade lens or filer lens inserted or incorporated therein, which allows the camera user to take a photograph without removing the protective lens.

  • Patent number: 8253049
Abstract: A slip on cover for the end portion of the toggle of a light switch is disclosed. The cover can slip over the toggle and adhere by suction or friction. The cover can provide a variety of decorative features, including color and glow in the dark feature to allow a person to easily find the light switch in the dark. It can provide protection for the light switch toggle to limit damage. The light switch cover can also incorporate various decorative features at the end of the light switch, including balls and hats and a wide variety of other shapes.

  • Patent number: 8224627
Abstract: A technique for determination of the signal subspace dimension K in direction of arrival estimation and in exponentially damped sinusoids modeling (where K represents respectively the number of detected objects and the model order) by using the ratios between the squared singular values of the processed data matrix and of its sum with an auxiliary matrix composed of random entries from a normal distribution. The disclosed noise addition technique (NAT) is computationally effective and thoroughly tuned for use in each one of the designated tasks, causes very few false alarms, operates accurately within or below the SNR limits attained by others techniques and downwards determines a steadily decreasing to zero dimension K of the signal subspace.

  • Patent number: 7766562
Abstract: A lens support system for stabilizing and securing a large camera lens when it is attached to a camera is disclosed. The lens support system consists of a lens cradle that is attached to the tripod mount of a large camera lens, and a neck strap attached to the lens cradle that will be worn around the photographer's neck. The lens support system can also be used to secure a lens when unattached to a camera, and can be used as a balanced hand-hold without the neck strap.

  • Patent number: 7677275
Abstract: A device and method for easily filling a syringe with one hand is disclosed. The device includes a flat hand for holding a medicine bottle, a syringe holder with a curved finger for holding a syringe, a mounted post for securing the device and a swivel arm mounted to the post which holds the flat hand, wherein the swivel arm allows the user to invert the flat hand and the medicine bottle secured therein, and easily draw medicine from the medicine bottle into the syringe with one hand.

  • Patent number: 7670046
Abstract: Hotwire element for thermal conductivity detectors, that comprises one or two individual nickel filaments each having resistance of above 200 ohm at 20° C. and an insulation coating of polytetrafluoroethylene with a thickness less than 5 micrometers, that are wound into a uniformly filled spherical or cylindrical body that has at least 33% gas-permeable hollow volume. Relevant hotwire sensor for thermal conductivity detectors, that comprises a wound on a centering holder filled element enveloped by fixed fillers forming a symmetric to it built-in cavity with an inlet and a gas outlet surrounding the centering holder. Radii of the filled elements and their cavities are in proportion, at which minimum electric current is needed for heating the elements to desired temperature.

  • Patent number: 7611235
Abstract: A method and device to prevent the refill of cartridges, including inject and laser printer cartridges. The device includes a cage made of hardened drill resistant material inserted within the central reservoir of the cartridge to prevent drilling into the cartridge. The device also includes a bit grabbing mesh designed to grab or catch any drill bit able to penetrate the drill resistant cage, thus impeding the ability of a refiller to drill holes into the central reservoir. The device also includes at least two pressure sensitive check valves that close if a refiller attempts to introduce refill ink either by forcing it in under pressure or by drawing it in by means of a vacuum created within the central reservoir. Finally, the device includes a number of packets containing an ink altering material that would be released and foul any refill ink during an attempt to refill the cartridge.
