Abstract: A system for measuring the performance of participant in a game, wherein the game is comprised of a series of discrete trials where for each trial the participant receives a score selected from one of a finite set of discrete scores based on the participant's performance for each trial. The system may be configured to receive over the network a set of counts corresponding to the numbers of each score from the discrete set received by the participant for each trial during the game. The system may compute a weighted score based on an assigned set of weight factors for each type of score and an entered set of counts. Users of the system may be entered into a tournament based on the users' weighted score rankings and a winner is determined based on the weighted score. A method for ranking golf courses by their level difficulty is provided.
Abstract: Sports training apparatuses, systems and methods for allowing a golf club user to estimate the trajectory and distance of a golf ball once it has been impacted with the golf club. One embodiment includes a golf club made up of a head, a ferrule, a shaft and a grip wherein one or more markings are positioned on said head, ferrule, shaft or grip or any combination of the head, ferrule, shaft and grip so the one or more markings may be used for monitoring and aiding in the improvement of the player's performance. The markings may be positioned at one or more locations about the external surface of one or more portions of the golf club including the head, the ferrule, the hosel, the shaft, and the grip. In other embodiments, additional markings may be used in conjunction with the first set of markings.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for contacts management and an interface application for managing, searching and sharing electronic contact information of users of a group.
Abstract: The keyboard of the present invention provides an ergonomic layout having a configuration divided into two halves, with half the standard keys normally associated with a user's left hand positioned on the left side of the board while the other keys normally associated with a user's right hand are positioned on the right side of the board, the centers being shoulder width apart. The spacing enables users to type comfortably with keystrokes that feel natural and correct. For example, the left parenthesis button may be positioned on the left side while the right parenthesis may be positioned on the right side.
Abstract: The Furniture Pad Folding Machine is a dry cleaning machine that is multi-faceted; it can clean and disinfect furniture pads and the machine has the ability to fold furniture pads. The machine is portable and can function on the moving truck and at the warehouse.
Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a glove catch apparatus configured for connection to an existing glove dispenser. The glove catch apparatus comprises a frame, and access opening configured to permit access to a dispensing hole of the existing glove dispenser, and a well configured to catch dropped gloves dispensed from the glove dispenser. In addition, a glove dispenser, mountable to a wall, is disclosed. The glove dispenser comprises a well configured to catch dropped gloves dispensed from the glove dispenser.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cigar humidor, comprising: a hollow housing; a lid connected to the housing; a germicidal light assembly positioned inside the housing for disinfecting cigars; and a platform transparent to ultraviolet light produced by the assembly.
Abstract: A drum rim raising device that is attachable to an existing drum structure, comprising an arc section of a drum rim configured to be secured to the existing drum housing. The rim raising device is configured to support a triggering system.
Abstract: A development framework and runtime environment for applications that execute in real-time operating systems. Application development is enhanced by providing simple instructions that allow a programmer to declare any function as a function managed with priority. Compiler tools implement priority function and the management code for managing execution at runtime. At runtime, priority functions are managed based on their respective priority level. The priority function information is stored when execution is to be delayed.
Abstract: Variants of the invention are directed to Internet-based shopping networks which provide information to consumers who desire to purchase locally-produced or locally-manufactured products or services. In one variant, an Internet-based shopping network utilizes a website home page to interface with consumers. The website home page may include consumer-oriented components such as a product search component, a product rank component and/or a product purchase component. The network may include vendor-oriented components such as hyperlinks to predetermined vendors based on products offered by the predetermined vendor and the percentage of sales that is returned by the vendor for recirculation within a local economy.
Abstract: A development and runtime framework for applications that execute in real-time operating systems. Application development is enhanced through simple instructions that allow a programmer to declare functions and sets of functions as tasks and supertasks, respectively, and manage the execution of functions, tasks and supertasks with priorities. A compiler or pre-processor provides tools for generating the code for tasks and supertasks, and the management code for managing execution. Function calls may be made directly to functions within supertasks via respective entrypoints, and the tasks are managed based on the functions being invoked. Within a supertask, a higher priority function may be runnable while a lower priority function of that supertask is suspended. A cookie is used to recognize when a register update for a supertask may be omitted, enabling more efficient context switching.
Abstract: A hiking stick including a first section, which includes: a first shaft and a male joining piece attached to the shaft, and extending away from the shaft. The male joining piece has an uncut portion and a beveled portion. The bevel is formed by a plane cut at the end of the joining piece at an angle with a long the axis of the hiking stick. A second section includes a second shaft having a hollow end configured for receiving the male joining piece, such that an inner wall of the end of the second shaft has a radial cross section which is narrower than a radial cross section of the widest portion of the male joining piece. The male joining piece is configured for being inserted into the end of the second section, and for being radially compressed by the end of the second section.
Abstract: A method for authenticating an estimated age of an archaeological artifact is described. The method generally includes irradiating the artifact with laser light, measuring a fluorescence spectrum emitted from the artifact and determining whether the artifact's actual age is consistent with the estimated age based on the measured fluorescence.
