Abstract: A coiled tubing connection system is used in a well. A connector having an engagement end is used to couple a wellbore device to the end of a coiled tubing. The connector is spoolable, and the engagement end comprises engagement features that facilitate formation of a connection that is dependable and less susceptible to separation.

Abstract: A system for precisely controlling a discharge rate of a discharged product is provided that includes a feeder bin having an internal chamber; a product disposed in the internal chamber of the feeder bin; and a discharge device that receives a portion of the product and discharges it at a discharge rate from the feeder The system also includes a control system that continually monitors the discharge rate of the discharged product and automatically adjusts the discharge rate based on measurements of the product.

Abstract: A method of pumping an oilfield fluid from a well surface to a wellbore is provided that includes providing a clean stream; operating one or more clean pumps to pump the clean stream from the well surface to the wellbore; providing a dirty stream including a solid material disposed in a fluid carrier; and operating one or more dirty pumps to pump the dirty stream from the well surface to the wellbore, wherein the clean stream and the dirty stream together form the oilfield fluid.

Abstract: A method of deploying a tool into a pressurized well is provided that includes providing the well with a wellhead having a blow out preventer coupled thereto; setting a pressure barrier within the well at a distance below the blow out preventer that is at least as long as the length of the tool to create a pressure chamber between the blow out preventer and the pressure barrier; and opening the blow out preventer to allow for conveyance of the tool into the pressure chamber.

Abstract: A connection between coiled tubing and a connector includes a plurality of dimples formed by a tubing, each dimple is disposed within a respective pocket formed in a connector to form at least two rows of dimple-pocket connections, wherein the fit of the dimples within the pockets of the rows graduates from tighter to looser along the length of the connection. The connection may further include a seal member positioned between the tubing and the connector positioned between at least two of the rows of dimple-pocket connections formed. A method of connecting coiled tubing to a connector includes the steps of graduating the dimple-pocket connections from tighter to looser along the length of the connection.

Abstract: The invention generally relates to an apparatus and/or a method for moving an round flexible member into and out of a well bore, and particularly, to an injector with two or more gripping members which bind the outer surface of the round flexible member; two or more actuators which cause the gripping members to bind or release the round flexible member; and at least one reciprocator for translating a gripping member to move the round flexible member, or for repositioning the gripping member. A method of translating a round flexible member is also provided which includes the steps of binding the outer surface of a round flexible member with at least one gripping members by engagement with an actuator, and translating a gripping member by reciprocator to move the round flexible member.

Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus and methods for preparing wellbore viscous treatment gels from dry polymer and water. The apparatus includes an eductor which slurries dry polymer with water, at least two input tubes, wherein one input tube is connected with the eductor, and another to a water source. The apparatus also includes a mixing chimney connected to the input tubes. The mixing chimney includes a lower input section with inlets connected to the input tubes wherein a jet of metered dilution water is applied at high pressure to the incoming polymer-water slurry stream. This mixture is then accelerated in a circular, and preferably upward, motion where it is sheared against the wall of a central section of the chimney, without the use of an impeller. The chimney further includes an output section that comprising holes circumferentially located, through which the mixture passes from the central section and into a hydration tank.
