  • Patent number: 6539979
Abstract: A process for lining an existing pipeline or conduit with a flexible resin impregnated cured in place liner by pulling in the liner and inflating an eversion bladder with air and curing the liner with flow-through steam without loss of pressure is provided. The bladder is stored in a pressure bladder canister coupled to a pressurized downtube and eversion elbow. The bladder is everted by introducing pressurized air into the canister As the bladder reaches the distal manhole, it enters a receiving canister where it is punctured while maintaining air pressure within the bladder a pinch valve between the downtube and elbow isolates the inverted bladder so that steam can be introduced into the bladder to cure the resin and exhaust through the receiving canister. The bladder is then removed and lateral service reinstated.

  • Patent number: 6481995
Abstract: A multi-layer roll having a thin fluoropolymer top coat on an elastomeric base layer bonded to a substantially rigid insert is provided. The top coat is formed by placing a thin non-self supporting fluoropolymer sleeve about the insert, or wrapping extruded fluoropolymer film about the insert which is placed in a mold sleeve and positioned in a book mold to hold the membrane in place. Liquid or flowable elastomer is injected into the space between the insert and flexible top coat at a point downstream of where the top layer is held in position between mold elements to prevent wrinkling. The mold is then heated to cure the elastomer.

  • Patent number: 6354330
Abstract: A method of lining an existing pipeline or passageway with a lining tube of a resin absorbent material impregnated with a curable synthetic resin is provided. A lining tube inserted into the pipeline and urged by pressure against the pipeline or passageway surface and heat is applied is stages to lengths of the lining tube by isolating a length of the uncured flexible lining from the remainder of the lining tube by expanding an expansible and contractible member inside the lining. A heated fluid medium is supplied to the isolated length so that the heat cures the resin within the isolated length. The contractible member is contracted and displaced along the length to isolate a new section of the lining tube which is then cured.
