  • Patent number: 5495523
Abstract: A method for maintaining disconnected call record events in a pending condition is provided until an available agent is acquired to service the disconnected call record event. The method includes the steps of reprioritizing the disconnected call record event to a lower priority level value and comparing the priority level value of the disconnected call record event with the priority levels of the additional pending call record events. Upon the disconnected call record event having a priority level value equal to or higher than the additional call record events, an available agent is requested and a second outbound call is placed for the previously disconnected call record event. The requested available agent is connected to the second outbound call upon an outside party answering the second outbound call.

  • Patent number: 5449539
Abstract: A ceremonial roll of material that can be easily unrolled and used is described. The roll contains a small layer or strip of releasable adhesive located on the floor surface of the roll within a starting end region of the roll. This adhesive is then pressed onto the floor itself before the roll is rolled down the aisle or walkway to be used. The adhesive will hold to the floor during the unrolling but can easily be removed by pulling up at an angle from the floor. The ceremonial roll may be made from a host of materials but a non-woven material made from long, natural and synthetic fibers is preferred.

  • Patent number: 5405132
Abstract: A transportable basketball net assembly for temporary use on a basketball rim, installed from the ground using only the basketball. Installation is accomplished by closing temporarily the bottom of the net by use of a clip or equivalent means secured to the net, then inverting and disposing the net assembly over the basketball, then throwing the ball and net assembly into position on the basketball rim, the clip or equivalent releasing under the force and weight of the falling ball, thus opening the net. The net assembly is dislodged and removed by throwing the ball up through the rim, contacting the net and the flanged collar with upward force from below.

  • Patent number: 5400257
Abstract: A method for producing a Batik-type image on cloth. Artwork is generated manually or via a computer graphic art program, which contains an outline of a Batik-type image to be produced on cloth. The outline simulates wax drip lines. Coloration is then added to selected areas, and the artwork is color separated into individual images. Simulated wax crack lines are then added to the color separations. Screens for each individual color are produced, and the cloth is printed using a discharge type ink. The result is an image very similar to Batik style dyeing.

  • Patent number: 5390967
Abstract: A connector system for coupling first and second venting devices, at least one of which comprises a flexible vent pipe, includes a venting device connector having first and second ends. A first end of the venting device connector includes an inner vent member having an outside diameter smaller than the inside diameter of the flexible pipe to which it is to be coupled. An outer flexible vent pipe restraining member circumferentially surrounds an end portion of the inner vent member and has an inside diameter substantially larger than the inner vent member, and generally larger than the outside diameter of a grooved exterior region of the flexible vent pipe to which the connector is to be coupled. A circumference reducer allows the first end of the venting device connector to be securely and releasably attached to the flexible vent pipe.

  • Patent number: 5386146
Abstract: An in-line fluid medium driven charging system includes a fluid medium driven generator disposed in a fluid medium directing tube. The fluid medium driven generator includes an auger shaped, fluid medium engaging member and is coupled to an electrical generator. Rotation of the auger shaped, fluid medium engaging member by intercepting a flow of a fluid medium causes rotation of the electrical generator, thereby generating electrical energy which recharges and assists in maintaining the life of a battery in a moving vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5355327
Abstract: A statistical data collector gathers statistical data concerning the operation of at least one data terminal coupled to a host system by way of a data terminal controller. The data terminal controller controls access to the host by the data terminal. Each data terminal coupled to the data terminal controller includes at least one user definable function selector for selecting a previously defined data processing function. The data terminal controller further includes a statistical data collector, responsive to a selected data terminal user definable function selector, for gathering statistical data concerning the data processing function selected by the user definable function selector and operation of the data terminal.

  • Patent number: 5343518
Abstract: A system and method for controlling the dialing order of a plurality of call record lists by a predictive dialing system are disclosed. The system includes a flow controller and a list controller. The list controller receives a number of call records from a call list provider for establishing a plurality of call record lists. The flow controller links one or more call lists in a predetermined order to form one or more list flow campaigns which may be later edited or joined together by the flow controller. A predictive dialer receives the call lists according to the list flow campaign and dials telephone numbers in the order directed by the linked call record lists which form the flow campaign. Also disclosed is a method for linking call record lists.

  • Patent number: 5254876
Abstract: A combination solar and wind powered generator including a wind generator, responsive to the flow of air currents, for converting mechanical energy into electrical energy. The wind generator includes a plurality of air spirally shaped engaging vanes which are rotatably supported by the wind generator, and operative for intercepting the flow of air currents for producing mechanical energy. The wind generator also includes an electric generator apparatus coupled to the plurality of air engaging vanes, for transforming the mechanical energy into a first source of electrical energy. A plurality of light sensitive cells, disposed proximate the spirally formed air engaging vanes, are adapted for transforming light energy into a second source of electrical energy. The spirally shaped air engaging vanes may include a plurality of surface deviations for altering the flow of air currents intercepted by the vanes and for directing light energy onto the light sensitive cells.

  • Patent number: 5255270
Abstract: A method for assuring data write integrity on a data storage device includes storing data in a temporary memory storage medium after receipt of the data and prior to writing the data to a storage device. After the data is written to a storage device, the data itself, or an error checking and correction code is read and compared with the original data or with the data error checking and correction code. If no error occurs, new data is received written, read and compared. If an error has occurred, the method re-writes the data to the same or a re-assigned location on the data storage device prior to writing, reading and comparing the data again. Thus, data is written and compared prior to removing the data from a temporary memory storage medium to assure data write integrity.

  • Patent number: 5245708
Abstract: A device restrains unwanted movement of neck apparel worn by a wearer along the front portion of a shirt having uniformly spaced fastening buttons. The restraining device is disposed vertically parallel to and proximate an unrestrained portion of the neck apparel. The restraining device slidably engages with a transversely arranged neck apparel member disposed on the unrestrained portion of the neck apparel. The device includes a soft pliable member having first and second elongated buttonhole openings proximate first and second ends of the member. The longitudinal centers of the first and second elongated buttonhole openings are separated a predetermined distance for releasably engaging with first and second uniformly spaced fastening buttons on the front of the shirt of a wearer. The restraining device permits essential vertical movement of the neck apparel along the restraining device, while generally restraining all other movement.

  • Patent number: 4849692
Abstract: A device for quantitatively measuring the relative position and orientation of two bodies in the presence of metals via measuring the position and orientation of receiving antennae with respect to transmitting antennae utilizing direct current electromagnetic field signals is hereby disclosed. The transmitting and receiving components of the instant device consist of two or more separate transmitting antennae of known position and orientation with respect to each other. Each transmitting antenna is driven one at a time by a pulsed, direct current signal. The receiving antennae measure the values of transmitted direct current magnetic fields one dimension at a time and those of the Earth's magnetic field as well, one dimension at a time.
