  • Patent number: 6546568
Abstract: A toilet tank with a sediment removal assembly comprises a flexible tube connected to the upper discharge spout of the intake standpipe in the toilet tank cavity, and a configured length of copper tubing connected to the flexible tube for water to flow therethrough when the float valve is open to flow water into the tank during a flushing operation. The copper tubing has a longitudinal section which extends downwardly and vertically from its connection to the flexible tube, an integrally joined first lateral or horizontal section curved or bent to lie on the bottom wall of the tank adjacent to the rear wall, and an integrally joined second lateral or horizontal section curved or bent to extend substantially normal to the first lateral section and lie on the bottom wall of the tank adjacent to the then facing end wall of the tank.

  • Patent number: 6480585
Abstract: A data communications system and method are provided, for example, in a facsimile machine to establish a data link with a gateway over a local loop. The data link is established employing pulse code modulation with prioritization in the upstream direction. Alternatively, a modulation type may be employed that is equivalent to pulse code modulation that provides similar or higher speed data communication. By using pulse code modulation in the upstream direction, the resulting facsimile transmission in accomplished with much greater speed.

  • Patent number: 6158617
Abstract: A concentrated reduced dosage spray pump delivery system for dispensing fluids containing actives and volatile organic compounds with reduced emissions of the volatile organic compounds is disclosed. The system includes a housing storing a concentrated fluid containing volatile organic compounds and an effective component, wherein the effective component is concentrated within the fluid. The system also includes a spray pump in fluid communication with the concentrated fluid containing the volatile organic compounds such that the spray pump dispenses the concentrated fluid at a reduced dosage per pump stroke. The combination of the concentrated fluid containing volatile organic compounds and the reduced dosage per pump stroke reduces the emission of volatile organic compounds, while the quantity of actives applied per square area of application surface substantially remains the same.

  • Patent number: 5806253
Abstract: A stair nosing for the installation of laminate flooring on stair steps. The stair molding has an elongated, rigid base member for installation of the stair nosing on the leading edge of a stair step and an elongated, flexible tread member covering and interlocked with the rigid base member. The base member has a nose portion with a rounded front surface for defining a leading edge on a stair step and planar back surfaces that intersect at right angles. Flanges extend laterally from and on the same plane as the back surfaces of the nose portion for positioning the base portion on the tread and riser of a stair step.

  • Patent number: 5743388
Abstract: A flexible and substantially non-resilient package containing a number of three-dimensional objects. The package is such that multiple packages can be stacked on top of one another. The package includes a flexible container comprising opposing top and bottom walls and at least one side wall, all of which are joined together to form an interior chamber for containing the non-rectangular objects. The package further includes a balance component integral with the top and bottom walls to stabilize the package and keep it from tipping over. The three-dimensional objects to be contained, such as soap bars, are substantially rigid and non-rectangular. The objects have two non-planar opposing oblong faces. The faces are connected by a pair of opposing major peripheral edges and a pair of opposing minor peripheral edges, with the minor peripheral edges being smaller than the major peripheral edges.

  • Patent number: 5709318
Abstract: Disclosed is a dispensing closure for product packaging, having a closure body that attaches to a container, and a toggle dispensing lid with an integral locking switch attached to the closure body. An integral frangible tab, which must be fractured before the closure can be used to dispense product, may be included for tamper evidence. The integral locking switch has at least two living hinges so that it may be moved between locked and unlocked positions, thereby permitting movement of the dispensing lid between closed and product dispensing positions.
