Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for a enterprise-wide work flow system that may encompass multiple geographically separate sites. The sites may be either permanently or transiently linked. A single computer network may accommodate multiple work flow systems and a single work flow system may be distributed over multiple local area networks. The system maintains the paradigm of one global queue per service and provides for individual work flow systems to export services to one another in an enterprise.

Abstract: An Internet-based document management system and methods are provided wherein access to the system and its services may be controlled through use of access tokens. The Internet-based document management system allows an electronic document to be stored on an Internet-accessible server and accessed using a previously known web browser, downloaded for review or manipulation, and then returned to the server for access by further users. The server is programmed to generate and validate access tokens and provide a plurality of services supported by a common database and document store, including storage and retrieval services, an electronic document delivery service, a document distribution service, a collaborative file sharing service and a workflow service.
Abstract: The present invention provides an optical system having a read mode, during which multiple tracks of an optical disk are simultaneously read, and a write mode, during which data is written to at least one track of the optical disk. The multiple light beams employed during read mode may be generated by a single laser diode operated at low power used in combination with a diffractive element, multiple laser diodes, or combinations thereof.

Abstract: A circuit and method for controlling a switching voltage regulator having (1) a switch including one or more switching transistors and (2) an output adapted to supply current at a regulated voltage to a load including an output capacitor. The circuit and method generates a control signal to turn said one or more switching transistors OFF under operating conditions when the voltage at the output is capable of being maintained substantially at the regulated voltage by the charge on the output capacitor. Such a circuit and method increases the efficiency of the regulator circuit particularly at low average current levels.
Abstract: A display case is provided having vertical members with internal conductors. The conductors are coupled to a source of low voltage electrical power such that adjacent vertical members are of differing electrical polarity. Shelf supports are designed to make electrical contact with the internal conductors when engaged in a vertical member. A light fixture, disposed on the underside of a shelf is electrically coupled to the shelf supports thereby completing an electrical circuit for energizing the light fixture.
