Patent number: 5537074Abstract: Power output switching circuit (215) for use in high current and high frequency applications. The output circuit provides a series of geometrically symmetric parallel spaced semiconductor converters (214A, 214B, 216A, 216B) arranged such that the voltage for each semiconductor output device is substantially equal and minimal for each device. In this way, each device exhibits substantially the same impedance, such that circuit performance is largely a function of intrinsic device characteristics, and substantially independent of cross coupling and another external influences.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 1994Date of Patent: July 16, 1996Inventors: Arthur H. Iversen, George Gabor

Patent number: 5531040Abstract: An internally mounted light beam sight suitable for use in automatic pistols and other weapons is provided by replacing the conventional recoil spring guide rod with a hollow tube having substantially the same exterior shape and dimensions, but containing a laser beam generation module within its hollow bore. A collar surrounds the module near a first end. The collar has a part-spherical outer surface which engages a matching-spherical inner surface within the tube so that the angular orientation of the module may be adjusted by relative rotation of the two part-spherical surfaces. The collar is desirably split by one cut-through so that it may be spread apart to slip over an end of the module. The module and collar have an interlocking groove and ridge which retains the collar in place on the module. Transverse adjustment screws in the tube bear on a distal end of the module so that the angular orientation of the module may be varied with respect to the tube.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 1994Date of Patent: July 2, 1996Assignee: Tac Star Industries, Inc.Inventor: Larry Moore

Patent number: 5484292Abstract: An electronic book comprising a plurality of leaves, each leaf comprising pages of printed material bound at one edge to form a spine, with electrical circuits formed in each leaf. A common electronic circuit such as a speech generator and/or controller cooperates with the electrical circuits on each of the various pages, connected to the electrical circuits in the leaves through conductive paths through the spine of the book. The electrical circuits in the leaves include electrical elements such as switches, and sensory output devices (e.g., thermochromic devices, light emitting diodes, thermo-olfactory devices, electrochromic devices, and the like). The electrical elements are associated with particular portions of the printed material so that the particular portions can be selectively highlighted or emphasized (e.g., designated by actuation of a visual or olfactory device and/or text read).Type: GrantFiled: November 24, 1992Date of Patent: January 16, 1996Inventor: Stephen I. Patent number: 5482881Abstract: A flash EEPROM having reduced column leakage current suitably includes cells with more uniform erase times arranged in an array. An intermediate n+ implant immediately following the DDI implant step suitably provides an enhanced doping profile in the tunneling region, which increases the rate at which F-N tunneling occurs to erase the cells, and which increases the uniformity of F-N tunneling rates among memory cells within the array. A thermal cycle drives the intermediate n+ implant deeper into the tunneling region. Alternatively, an n+ implant may be performed at a relatively large angle with respect to the semiconductor substrate, which improves the doping concentration in the tunneling region of the source.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 1995Date of Patent: January 9, 1996Assignee: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.Inventors: Jian Chen, Yuan Tang, Scott Luning, Salvatore F.
