Abstract: Methods, systems, and articles of manufacture consistent with the present invention provide an electronic marketplace that matches units of content from secondary content providers with suitable vacancies from primary content providers. Vacancies may constitute, or be included in, any digital transmission containers, such as a television or radio programming, web pages, and the like. Specifically, the electronic marketplace automatically matches content offered by secondary content providers with vacancies offered by primary content providers thus filling the vacancies in these containers through a real-time content trading, placement, and distribution system. To do so, attributes associated with the vacancies and with units of secondary content are used to trade and match suitable vacancies with suitable content. This invention enables both secondary content owners and vacancy owners (primary content providers) to obtain the full commercial benefit of their secondary content and containers.

Abstract: Fraud and identity theft are enabled by two faulty assumptions about the way that the identity of a person is verified in our society. The first is that someone who demonstrates knowledge of certain items of personal or financial information about a particular person is presumed to be that person. The second assumption, which gives rise to the first assumption, is that these items of information can be kept confidential. Because fraudsters and identity thieves often seek to use their victim's personal and financial information, this invention proposes a direct authentication system and method that does not depend on these assumptions. The proposed method enables businesses to determine whether the customer is truly the person who he says he is by adopting a new “two-factor” authentication technique and authenticating customer's identity utilizing customer's trusted authenticator.

Abstract: A method and system is provided by a Central-Entity, for identification and authorization of users over a communication network such as Internet. Central-Entity centralizes users personal and financial information in a secure environment in order to prevent the distribution of user's information in e-commerce. This information is then used to create digital identity for the users. The digital identity of each user is dynamic, non predictable and time dependable, because it is a combination of user name and a dynamic, non predictable and time dependable secure code that will be provided to the user for his identification. The user will provide his digital identity to an External-Entity such as merchant or service provider. The External-Entity is dependent on Central-Entity to identify the user based on the digital identity given by the user. The External-Entity forwards user's digital identity to the Central-Entity for identification and authentication of the user and the transaction.

Abstract: A system and method comprising a computer useable medium having computer readable program code embodied therein for authenticating and encrypting and decrypting information transferred over a public network between a client application program running in a client computer and a server application program running in a server computer and a directory service application program running in a server computer. A method for secure communication by a processor with a server includes generating a message to the server by employing a one pass key generation probabilistic authentication process using a predetermined session master key and sending the message to the server. A method for secure communication between an application executable on a computer and a web server coupled to the computer includes participating by the application in an initial authentication process with the server and wrapping every GET and POST request message to the server in an SSLX-EA exchange after the initial authentication process.

A method for obtaining a session master key by an application from a server includes sending an open request to the server for the session master key and receiving a first reply by the application from the server with a first portion of the session master key. The first reply identifies a directory server from which a second portion of the session master key may be obtained. The application sends an open request to the directory server specified by the server in the first reply for the second portion of the session master key and receives it from the directory server.

Abstract: An apparatus for depositing seed layers over a substrate, which substrate includes a patterned insulating layer with at least one opening surrounded by a field, and which opening has sidewalls, bottom surfaces and top corners, includes: a CVD chamber adapted to deposit one or more CVD seed layers over the substrate; a PVD chamber adapted to deposit one or more PVD seed layers over the substrate; and a controller which includes recipe information. The recipe information includes deposition sequence and process parameters for operation of the deposition chambers.

Abstract: A computer based portfolio manager system enables a user to create and manage a portfolio of investments. Users can create multiple sub-portfolios, termed folios, within their overall investment portfolio. Each of these folios can be created by the user or selected from multiple preset folios. One of the possible preset folios includes a manager's recommended folio. This folio is regularly updated, thereby indicating buy and sell recommendations of the manager. A user can balance his or her folio in accordance with the manager's revisions by investing additional capital in some securities and selling others. To prevent undesirable tax effects, a user can move securities from the manager's folio to a holding folio established by the user rather than selling the securities. This enables a user to maintain a folio in the proportions recommended by the manager. The system also enables the folio to be continually rebalanced, while avoiding undesirable tax effects.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system and a methodology enabling a first provider party to provide to a second recipient party software and services to enable the recipient party to embed in an Internet e-mail of the recipient party directed to an addressee, an HTML hyperlink file which includes a telecommunication initiating trigger, sending the e-mail to the addressee via the Internet, the addressee upon receiving the e-mail actuating the hyperlink via its trigger and, responsive to the trigger actuation, connecting the addressee via the Internet to a web page located on an Internet server, wherein the web page includes a request for a telephone number of the addressee.

Abstract: A system for secure communications. An authentication procedure establishes a session key between communicating entities that is used to encrypt subsequent communications. The authentication procedure can be repeated for each n messages exchanged, where n is an integer, for each web page sent and received and for any other suitable interval. An entity can establish a trusted relationship with a directory server that can act as a trusted intermediary in authentication and session key set up between two or more entities that do not trust each other.

Abstract: The circuit monitoring device is disclosed. The device is for monitoring circuit resistance. At configurable thresholds digital flags are triggered, the device can be used as a Security/Building management system. The device uses open technology is fully scaleable and allows programmable logic controllers to be used as security management systems. Using a soft logic option a PC could take the place of the PLC.

Abstract: An electronic procurement session is conducted between a host and a user needing to procure products or services on behalf of an organization. An established contract for the purchase and sales of products/services between a supplier and the organization is the basis for constructing a set of pre-priced items that may be supplied to the organization. A bi-directional electronic communication interface using protocols of the World Wide Web is established between the host and the user and provides the user with access to web-pages which are displayed on the user's computer using a standard Web browser. In response to user information, a subset of the set of pre-priced items is displayed on web-pages and served by the host to the user. Orders for user-selected items from the displayed web-pages are forwarded to a vendor for order fulfillment.

Abstract: A taper bore bearing assembly permits variability in diameter of the rotating shaft. An annular cylinder is mechanically coupled to the rotatable shaft and a bearing element is in turn mechanically coupled to the annular cylinder, which includes a tapered bore so that an interior diameter of the annular cylinder decreases from one end to the other. An inner race of the bearing element includes accepts the annular cylinder. The interior diameter of the inner race decreases from one end to the other. A locking ring locks the annular cylinder to the bearing element. Holes extend radially through the locking ring. A screw thread mechanically couples with the bearing assembly, which screw thread is inscribed on an interior surface of the locking ring. Cutout sections in the screw thread are formed by the holes. Setscrews disposed in the holes hold the locking ring in place.

Abstract: A shower shoe diminishes the risk of slipping in wet and slippery areas. The shower shoe or slipper can be easily worn by an individual when taking a shower, bath or simply walking through a slippery area. The shower shoe includes a mesh top through which water can pass, a rubber sole with water drainage slits through which water can pass, and grooves on the bottom of the rubber sole that prevent hydroplaning when walking in water. A Velcro® closure enables simple fastening of the shoe. A loop on the back of the shoe enables one to easily grip the shoe when putting the shoe on or taking the shoe off. The same loop can be used to hang the shower shoe while drying it. Siping is included in the bottom side of the sole.

Abstract: An Adaptive Software Application consists of several types of modules, called Adaptive Units, which are highly parameterized such that they can adapt to varying business requirements by virtue of externally provided parameters. An Adaptive Application is assembled through repeated use of various combinations of different types of Adaptive Units. Large and complex business systems can be rapidly implemented through this approach. An Adaptive Unit includes an interface component that can present information to and accept information from the outside world (such as a web page or a system interface), a processing logic component that can manipulate and evaluate information based on received parameters received (such as comparisons and decisions as in the case of data dependency decisions), and a data persistence logic component that retrieves, adds, updates, and deletes data targeting one or more Occurrence Databases. All three components of an Adaptive Unit are parameter driven.

Abstract: A scanner employs Raman spectroscopy for on site automated materials authenticity verification and identification. A technology developed so that operators with little or no technical expertise can perform on site fast nondestructive materials analyses. Automated generation of Raman signatures, and subsequent correlation to spectral fingerprints of known materials provides an ideal means for documentation verification or materials identification in settings like airport ticket counters, U.S. Customs gates, law enforcement vehicles and business offices (such as a physician's examination room). Computer controlled moveable optics provides for a scanning capability to automatically and precisely analyze several locations on a sample. The Raman scanner also provides for on site materials analysis requiring a high level of technical expertise to be done by transmission of the spectral data to a remote location via modem or wireless communications using a transmitter and receiver.

Abstract: An apparatus for processing an analog signal includes a programmable signal converter in which a mapping between input voltages and output voltages is loaded into an input-to-output mapping device, e.g., one or more look-up tables. The resulting device has a lower cost, introduces a shorter delay, requires significantly less circuit board real estate, and has a higher operating frequency than the existing devices. An exemplary embodiment includes an analog-to-analog converter disposed in an integrated package or on a single chip integrated circuit that includes an input converter, an input-to-output mapping device and a digital-to-analog converter. The traditional encoding/decoding process on the output of the digital-to-analog conversion is replaced in this embodiment by using the input converter to drive address mapping values in the input-to-output mapping device, e.g., entries in a lookup table, thereby significantly speeding up the process.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for rendering an input video stream as a polygon texture. The method provides process steps to receive the input video data in a Mip Map generator, wherein the Mip Map generator converts the video data to Mip Map data and stores the Mip Map data in a first memory storage device; wherein the first memory storage device is located in a V buffer. The method further includes sending a data set from a Z buffer to V buffer and mapping the data set to RGB values at a texel address in the V buffer memory. The data set includes U, V and Z coordinates, Mip Map level and channel identification data. The V buffer includes a V buffer fetch module that receives the data set from the Z buffer and maps to RGB data within V buffer memory.
