  • Patent number: 5680709
Abstract: A device for properly aligning and registering a display panel onto an adhesive backing panel to create a display article is provided, as well as a method and kit for such registration. The alignment device comprises a base having two wall portions which define an area within the base that is geometrically congruent to the display and backing panels. The wall portions are skewed with respect to one another, defining limit stops against which the display and backing panels can be placed to inhibit their movement and enable proper registration. The alignment device is preferably made out of a unitary construction of plastic, with the base having an arcuate cut-out along its perimeter. A method for registering the display panel on the backing to create a display article provides for proper placement of the panels into the alignment device. A kit includes a plurality of backing panels with adhesive layers, and an alignment device.

  • Patent number: 5680673
Abstract: A protective glide is adapted to be interfaced between a support surface and a foot portion of a legged object to protect the support surface against abrasion. The glide comprises a unitary body constructed of a non-abrasive material of sufficient stiffness to withstand compressive forces of the legged object against the surface thereby to resist collapse. The unitary body is mountable to the foot portion and as a lower area operative to contact the support the surface and an upper area opposite the lower area which is in facing relationship to the foot portion when mounted. The unitary body has a plurality of cavities formed therein with web elements separating adjacent one of these cavities. Preferably, a resilient member is interposed between the foot portion and the glide device and operates to conform the contours on a contact surface of the foot portion to stabilize the support log on the support surface.

  • Patent number: 5655861
Abstract: A hand-held drilling tool has at least one but preferably two blade structures which project longitudinally from a transverse base member to terminate in a distal end that forms a cutting element. Each blade structure has a pair of blade sections that are joined together along the longitudinal axis and that extend radially therefrom to terminate in lateral edges. Where two blade structures are present, each forms a handle for rotatably operating the other blade structure; where only one blade structure is present, a flattened handle is provided. The blade structures can have different blade widths for drilling differently sized holes. The blade sections may be offset from one another, and wedge-shaped feet may be disposed on the cutting elements. One of the blade structures can have both a bit portion and a shank portion of different widths. A pilot tip may also be provided on the distal ends of the blade structures. • Patent number: 5615587
Abstract: A deep-socket driver apparatus is adapted to rotatably move a first one of a mated pair of threaded workpieces such as a nut along a second one of the mated pair of threaded workpieces such as a nut. The deep-socket driver apparatus comprises an elongated tubular body having a gripping end portion sized to releasably grip the first one of the mated pair of threaded workpieces. The elongated tubular body is operative to apply a frictional gripping force to the first one of the mated pair of threaded workpieces whereby the first one of the mated pair of threaded workpieces can rotatably move along the second one of the mated pair of threaded workpieces until a torque-resisting force overcomes the frictional gripping force causing slippage between the elongated tubular body and the mated pair of threaded workpieces. It is preferable that the elongated tubular body include a closed end portion disposed opposite the gripping end portion so that a stubshaft can be coaxially connected thereto.

  • Patent number: 5570643
Abstract: A pull sheet pallet is provided and is adapted to be placed on a flat support surface for loading cargo thereon so that the cargo can be moved. The pallet comprises a sheet of material which is formed to have a plurality of nub structures thereon so that a plurality of protrusions extend upwardly from an upper surface of the material and a plurality of concavities are formed into a lower surface of the material. The sheet pallet is constructed of a stiff yet pliable material such that, when cargo is loaded onto the upper surface, contacted ones of the nub structures operate to collapse thereby forming a plurality of course regions on the upper surface which inhibit lateral sliding movement of the cargo on and across the upper surface when the cargo is acted upon by a force. Uncontacted ones of the nub structures form a raised barrier which operates to resist lateral movement of the sliding cargo. A lip may be disposed along a peripheral edge of the sheet of material.
