  • Patent number: 8067857
Abstract: A redundant power supply method is provided. The method includes communicatively coupling a load to a first source via a plurality of first power supplies and to a second source via a plurality of second power supplies. The method further includes bi-directionally communicatively coupling a controller to the plurality of first power supplies and to the plurality of second power supplies. The method includes activating a first portion of the plurality of first power supplies to supply power to the load, wherein the controller determines the number (“N”) of first power supplies activated, and activating at least one of the plurality of second power supplies to supply power to the load. The method also includes monitoring for at least one fault condition in each of the active first power supplies and in each of the active second power supplies.

  • Patent number: 8002568
Abstract: A connector frame is provided. The connector frame can be a generally rectangular member having a bore formed therethrough. The rectangular member can be at least partially formed by a first wall, and a second wall, connected by two side walls. The first, second and side walls can form at least a portion of an interior surface and an exterior surface. At least a portion of the interior surface can include a plurality of raised features adapted to detachably attach to a cable connector. A plurality of projections adapted to provide a grip for one or more fingers on each of the two side walls can be disposed on the exterior surface of the two side walls.

  • Patent number: 7935287
Abstract: Methods for forming a keyboard case are provided. A mold cavity configured to provide a keyboard case having a plurality of apertures disposed therethrough can be at least partially filled with a molten material. At least one runner can traverse at least a portion of the apertures forming the plurality of apertures. The molten material can be at least partially solidified within the mold cavity to provide the keyboard case. The keyboard case can be removed from the mold cavity and the at least one runner can be removed from at least a portion of the apertures forming the plurality of apertures.

  • Patent number: 7928326
Abstract: Systems and methods for minimizing the transmission and reception of electromagnetic interference (“EMI”) are provided. A member having first and second sides and at least one edge can be formed to correspond to the interior of an enclosure. At least one aperture can penetrate the member from the first side to the second side, forming at least one internal edge. A conductive layer can be disposed on or about the first side, the second side, the at least one edge, and the at least one internal edge of the member, thereby encapsulating the member.

  • Patent number: 7907393
Abstract: A clamshell electronic device provided. A first hinge having a first centerline along the axis of rotation of the first hinge can be disposed on a base member. A second hinge having a second centerline along the axis of rotation of the second hinge can be disposed on a keyboard member connecting a display member to the keyboard member. The keyboard member can be slideably connected to the base member. The keyboard member can be continuously reversibly slideable from a first position to a second position. The first and second centerlines can be axially aligned when the keyboard member is in the first position. A rigid support member having a first end and a second end can be pivotably connected to the base member at the first end and pivotably connected to the display member via a third hinge at the second end.

  • Patent number: 7903418
Abstract: An exemplary thermal protection system includes a body having a first surface, at least one stationary thermal member disposed at least partially proximate the first surface and at least one heat producing device. An aperture, defined by at least one exterior edge can penetrate both the body and the stationary thermal member. At least a portion of the heat producing device can be disposed proximate the aperture. A moveable thermal member translatable between a first position and a second position, can be disposed proximate the stationary thermal member, the aperture, and the heat producing device when in the first position. When in the first position, a first portion of the moveable thermal member can overlap at least a portion of the stationary thermal member. When in the second position, the moveable thermal member can be disposed distal to the aperture and the at least one heat producing device.
