  • Patent number: 6826809
Abstract: A separable bottom end stop for a slide fastener comprising a box, a box pin, and an insert pin. Protruding guide portions which protrude onto respective fastener tapes are integrally molded with respective side faces at tape-sides of the box pin and the insert pin via thin guide portions. The separable bottom end stop is formed of polyacetal resin, and a distance d between each outer side face of the box and each of the protruding guide portions and a protrusion height h of each of the protruding guide portions from a surface of each of the thin guide portions when the box pin and the insert pin are mounted into the box satisfy the equation (I): tan−1(d/h) ≧33°, where d≠0. The separable bottom end stop becomes hard to be broken with having excellent durability, despite using polyacetal resin which allows various coloring achieved easily, but is easy to be broken.

  • Patent number: 6826807
Abstract: A fastener which allows to distinguish a genuine fastener from a forged one. An identification yarn containing substance with different optical reactions to irradiation of visible light and to irradiation of infrared rays of a specific wavelength is disposed at a specified position in the tape which is a component of the fastener. As a result, discrimination between genuine and false fasteners can be done safely without damaging the human health.

  • Patent number: 6826810
Abstract: The separable bottom end stop assembly has male and female members engageable with and releasable from each other in a front-to-back direction thereof. A slide plate of the male member has an engagement leg portion projected therefrom, while a sliding plate of the female member has an engagement hole. Sliding surfaces are respectively formed at peripheries of the engagement leg portion and the engagement hole of the slide plates. Each of the slide surfaces is formed with steep incline surfaces and a gentle incline surface. With the cam mechanism, when the male member and the female member are pressed from both surfaces thereof, an insert plate disposed at one of the male member and the female member is automatically guided to an inside of the slider held by a holding portion disposed at the other of the male member and the female member, which simultaneously causes the slider to start moving.

  • Patent number: 6702337
Abstract: A spout for a flexible bag adapted to hold a liquid, the spout adapted for coupling with a connector having a rotatable spout adapter with an internal thread. The spout has a substantially cylindrical body with an outer surface, a spout opening, and a spout axis. The spout further has at least one flexible tab attached to and protruding radially distal from the outer surface of the cylindrical body of the spout. The tab has a top side that is substantially perpendicular to the spout axis, a bottom side opposing the top side, and a leading edge for engaging the thread. Additionally, the spout, has an undeformed tab length that typically deforms upon engaging the internal thread of the spout adapter.

  • Patent number: 6612545
Abstract: An improved screw-on assembly for coupling line connectors with spouts has been invented. The invention can be used with bag-in-box packaging or with a variety of other applications requiring fluid coupling. In one embodiment, threading is accomplished by mating internal threads on a line connector with flexible tabs located on the spout. Deformation of the tabs during threading provides a restorative force that stabilizes the assembly during threading. Cooperation of the deformable tabs with structures near the end of the thread provides for self-locking of the assembly. In addition, the tabs are situated on a flange, providing compatibility of the present invention with prior art line connectors.

  • Patent number: 5916882
Abstract: The present invention provides antimicrobial skin-preparations useable to disinfect a surgical site for surgery. The antimicrobial skin-preparation formula includes iodine, alcohol and gel. The new pre-operative skin-preparation quickly and effectively kills microorganisms when applied to the surgical site. The skin-preparation continues to effectively inhibit microorganism growth in the applied area over an extended period of time. One gel skin-preparation according to the invention includes alcohol at 60%-90% v/v, iodine at 1.0%-15.0% w/v, and gel at 0.1%-30.0% w/v. A carrier solvent and other optional components may also be added to the formula.

  • Patent number: 5533981
Abstract: An infusion pump 10 for dispensing fluid from a syringe 22 having a barrel 24 and a plunger 26 slidably inserted into the barrel 24 is disclosed. The infusion pump 10 provides a housing 12 having a bracket 18 which supports the barrel 24. A syringe driver 20 is movably attached to the housing 12 such that the syringe driver 20 abuts the plunger 26 to slide the plunger 26 into the barrel 24. A sensor is provided for sensing both the position of the plunger 26 relative to the barrel 24 and the capture of the plunger 26 in the syringe driver 20. Control circuitry is electrically connected to the sensor for determining the capture and position of the plunger 26.The sensor comprises a potentiometer 46 attached to the housing 12 and electrically connected to the control circuitry. The sensor further comprises a wiper 44 supported by the syringe driver 20.
