  • Patent number: 4822608
Abstract: Methods and compositions are described for the treatment of mammalian infections, including bacterial, viral and cancerous infections, in which hymenoptera venom or proteinaceous or polypeptide components thereof are employed to enhance the activity of primary anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-carcinogenic or carcinostatic agents.

  • Patent number: 4803759
Abstract: A manually operated bag closure device comprises a housing, a plunger, and a spring, and is manually operable between a bag insertion position and a bag closure position. The device is manipulable with one hand to overcome the force of the spring and locate the plunger relative to the housing at the bag insertion position, the neck of the bag being inserted into the passage with the plunger then being released to allow the spring to relocate the plunger relative to the housing at the bag closure position to grasp the neck of the bag and close it airtight.

  • Patent number: 4801215
Abstract: A ramp ribbon cartridge adapted for ramp mounting of a ribbon in a printer device which comprises a cartridge housing having a first end and a second end, a ribbon stored in and extending from the cartridge housing and on which a printing head makes a printing track while printing, a drive wheel for pulling the ribbon out of the housing, with the drive wheel being rotatably mounted at a first end of the cartridge housing and being adapted to connect with a drive shaft in a printer device, a ramping mechanism between the cartridge housing and positioned near the second end of the housing so as to place the ribbon at a ramp angle to the horizontal, a loose fitting connection between the drive wheel and the drive shaft of the printer device so that the drive shaft still drives the drive wheel without binding when the drive wheel is tilted on its axis away from the vertical, whereby the printing track of the ribbon is at a ramp angle to the top and bottom edges of the ribbon and is wider than if the ribbon were p

  • Patent number: 4771466
Abstract: A loudspeaker system includes at least two loudspeaker drivers, together with an electrical crossover network having filter circuits with at least two separate mutually exclusive frequency passbands. The filter circuits comprising the crossover network each possess brick-wall amplitude responses, i.e., passbands with very high band-edge amplitude vs. frequency response slops, on the order of 100 dB/octave in the better embodiments. The high passband band-edge slopes, which are realized by the inclusion of transmission zeros in the separate crossover filter transfer functions, takes together with further appropriate crossover filter transfer function synthesis causes the separate loudspeaker drivers comprising the loudspeaker system to function independently of one another in their contribution to total system acoustic output.
