Abstract: A method of prophylaxis and/or treatment of mastocarcinoma (i.e., mammary carcinoma) involves the topical application of a therapeutically or prophylactically effective amount of a steroidal aromatase inhibitor locally, and not systemically, to an area of a patient in need of treatment. This local application avoids the side effects associated with systemic use of steroidal aromatase inhibitors.
Abstract: An enhanced system and method for handling, matching and executing a diverse group of limit-priced orders in an electronic options environment is disclosed. Most of the order types disclosed are automatically repriced and reposted as the NBBO changes to increase their execution opportunities. Market maker entitlements are integrated with the order processing, so that the market maker is guaranteed an allocation of the trade if the market maker is at the NBBO when an order priced at or better than the NBBO is received. Once posted to the order book, the displayed price of an order may be eligible for preferential execution in a market maker entitlement process, regardless of whether the displayed price is original or has been automatically repriced.

Abstract: A portable assembly forming a polyhedron or other geometric-shaped enclosure, the assembly comprising a framed enclosure member having generally the shape of a polyhedron when erected, multiple frame member supports that form edges of the polyhedron-shaped enclosure, the multiple frame member supports supporting the framed enclosure member, and multiple tensile members, each tensile member removably attached to a point along a longitudinal axis of a first frame member support, the tensile member extending from the first frame member support through the polyhedron-shaped enclosure and removably attached to a point along a longitudinal axis of a second frame member support, the tensile member extending from the second frame member support through the polyhedron-shaped enclosure to a point along a longitudinal axis of a third frame member support such that the tensile members form peripheries of multiple voids inside the polyhedron-shaped enclosure.
Abstract: A noise suppressor includes a fundamental sound source (121, 122) for generating a fundamental waveform having a predetermined frequency, and suppresses that frequency component of noise which corresponds to the predetermined frequency by generating a control sound from a signal generated by multiplying the fundamental waveform by an adaptive filter coefficient (W0, W1). The noise suppressor further includes a frequency adjusting circuit (210) for increasing or decreasing, by a predetermined amount, the frequency of the fundamental waveform output from the sound source if the phase fluctuation of the control sound detected by using the adaptive filter coefficient is larger than a predetermined threshold value. The noise suppressor has improved ability of tracking the peak frequency fluctuation of periodic noise.
Abstract: System and methods for wireless energy and data transmission are described. One aspect includes an emitter and receiver. The emitter may include primary and secondary emitting windings. The receiver may include primary and secondary receiver windings. In further aspects, the emitter may include a tertiary emitting winding and the receiver may include a tertiary receiver winding. In one aspect, the emitter uses driving circuitry and the receiver uses rectifying circuitry and one or more capacitors. In further aspects, the emitter and receiver are reversible.

Abstract: Botulinum toxin, a well know systemic poison, produces favorable therapeutic effect by virtue of regionally attaching to nerves within the myoneural junction and possibly other tissues in a target region of a particular tissue. The present invention provides compositions of botulinum toxin and a sequestration agent that increase sequestration and delivery of the botulinum toxin to neural and associated tissues, as compared with available formulations of botulinum toxins, and thereby produce a beneficial clinical effect. The sequestration agents of the present invention include proteins, lipids and carbohydrates. A preferred composition of the present invention comprises a botulinum toxin and an albumin. The present invention also provides methods of treating neuromuscular diseases and pain using the disclosed compositions and methods of making the disclosed compositions.

Abstract: An adjuvant for use with systemic herbicides, pesticides, insecticides, ovicides and fungicides and method of application on animals, birds, trees, plants, fruits and vegetables to enhance the action and effect of systemic herbicides, pesticides, insecticides, ovicides and fungicides with which the adjuvant is combined wherein the adjuvant comprises at least one surfactant and at least one high terpene containing natural oil.
Abstract: A human head model for hairdressing and beauty training is disclosed. The head model comprises: a head component having a neck portion; a skin portion covered over the head component; and a plurality of connecting assemblies provided on the neck portion of the head component and the skin portion; wherein the skin portion is fixed to the head component via the plurality of connecting assemblies. The connecting assembly may be a rivet or a snap button. The present invention is of stable structure. For the skin portion and the head model are separate parts, and the head component is reusable, which saves materials and caters for environment protection. Meanwhile, the skin portion is of light weight, and occupies small space, which saves costs of transportation. The head model is adapted for use in haircut practice and also in dressing practice.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an accurate, sensitive, and efficient sequential or concurrently sequential method for molecular diagnosis of human papillomavirus (HPV)-based disease, where the method improves the accuracy and reliability of diagnostic and prognostic assessments of HPV-based disease. The method of the invention comprises a primary screen of a sample for HPV nucleic acids, followed by a secondary screen for molecular markers, such as proliferation and cell cycle control group protein markers. The sequential or concurrently sequential method significantly reduces the number of false positive results.

Abstract: An enhanced system and method for the “smart” routing of orders in an electronic options environment is disclosed. The method of routing includes different rules and protocols for orders that are allowed to route using a traditional intermarket linkage than for orders that are allowed to route using an alternative private direct connection or third-party service provider. The system and method of routing has at its basis a configurable, rules-based routing table that allows orders to be routed using different protocols based on the account type of the incoming order.
Abstract: An interactive library system is disclosed which receives, by a library system computer, a user identification and password from a user computer. The library system computer compares the user identification and password with authorized user identifications and corresponding passwords stored in the library system to determine whether to grant access to the interactive library system. If comparison results in grant of access, the interactive library system provides a user with desired information and sets the user's privileges.
