  • Patent number: 7304423
Abstract: To obtain a paste for electron sources which can enhance heat resistance of carbon nanotubes, which can suppress burn-out of the carbon nanotubes even during heating at a high temperature, and can exhibit a high electron emission performance, boron (B) is added to the paste formed of the carbon nanotubes and metal. Due to the addition of boron, the oxidation of the carbon nanotubes can be suppressed, and the degradation of the electron emission characteristics and the degradation of the uniformity of the emission of electrons during the heating process such as baking can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 7270826
Abstract: The present invention uses pharmaceutical preparations of Botulinum toxin to induce neurogenic atrophy to alter muscle volume and subsequently, facial contour. Reduction in lip volume is accomplished using the disclosed methods thereby producing a favorable effect on a hypervolemic lip deformity. In other embodiments of the invention, the methods disclosed herein may be used to shrink muscle bulk and contour, especially in the face. In one embodiment, treating excessive muscle bulk below the eyelids can cause a smoothing of the lower lid and cheek contour producing a favorable improvement in appearance. Such an application is in distinct contrast to rhytide (wrinkle reduction) as the injected region does not contain wrinkles or any other form of dynamic line, merely excessive tissue bulk.

  • Patent number: 7249091
Abstract: An exchange member establishes a threshold credit value for transactions by a non-member institution. The threshold value is provided to a credit authorization service of the exchange, which acts as a surrogate for the exchange members. Securities transaction or orders from non-member institutions are then transmitted from the non-member institution to the credit authorization service of the exchange. The credit authorization service compares the transaction with a percentage of the pre-established threshold value. If the transaction does not exceed the percentage of the pre-established threshold, the system forwards the transaction to the exchange. If the transaction does exceed the percentage of the pre-established threshold, the system notifies the sponsoring exchange member and possibly the non-member institution. The percentage of the pre-established threshold may be less than or equal to 100 percent of the pre-established value.

  • Patent number: 7244103
Abstract: Round honeycomb rotor for wind generators and most propellers has bent tubular trapezoids, two or more concentric tubular cylinders and a variable number of round bent tubular trapezoids. Both cylinders and trapezoids form modular trapezoidal tubes, which have large wind contact surfaces. The concentric tubular cylinders of the round panel have bent pieces fitted in between them whose function is to minimise wind exit and multiply wind contact surfaces in wind generators. As for propeller rotors the number of round bent tubular trapezoids gets multiplied as well as its wind contact surfaces, which results in the optimum use of most centrifugal propelling forces thanks to the reduction of wind entrance and the amplification of wind exit.

  • Patent number: 7166694
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for producing a vaccine against cancerous disease, and the vaccine itself. This method involves first using one or more antibodies that are specifically effective against one or more antigens specially expressed by the tumor cells to select one or more mimotopes of said antigens from a phage peptide library. To obtain the vaccine, said mimotopes are conjugated to a macromolecular carrier singly or multiply in the form of their mono-, di-, tri- or oligomers. When administered, the inventively produced vaccine leads to a humoral immune response and thus to the formation of an active immunity as a consequence of vaccination.
