Abstract: A technique is provided that may be employed in multicarrier communications to improve the efficiency of error correction using symbol-oriented error correction methodologies, by reducing the number of error correction code symbols (102, 104 . . . ) that are received in error that result from a single channel error. More specifically, in this technique, bits from the symbols are allocated among the channels in such a way as to minimize the number of respective channels that are allocated bits belonging to more that one respective symbol during a respective transmission period.

Abstract: There is disclosed a method for forming micro patterns in a semiconductor integrated circuit device with high productivity and high accuracy. A photolithography having high throughput and electron beam lithography using a reticle and having relatively high throughput and high resolution are selectively used so as to obtain highest throughput while satisfying accuracy and resolution required for each product/layer. In the case of using the electron beam lithography, a non-complementary reticle and a complementary reticle are selectively used so as to obtain highest throughput while satisfying required accuracy and resolution. Thus, productivity and integration can be improved for the semiconductor integrated circuit device.
Abstract: A measuring apparatus for a power roller unit for a toroidal type continuous variable speed transmission, the power roller unit having a trunnion with concentric pivot portions at opposite ends thereof, a pair of bearings disposed around the pivot portions, a displaceable shaft rotatably supporting a pivot support shaft disposed in a hole formed in the trunnion, and a power roller rotatably supported around the pivot support shaft, the measuring apparatus comprising at least one pedestal having an upper surface adapted to support the pivot portions of the trunnion, a hold-down actuator adapted to press the bearings against the upper surface of the at least one pedestal, and a power roller hold-down actuator adapted to press the power roller toward the trunnion, a drive actuator adapted to displace at least one of the power roller and the displaceable shaft, and a measuring device that measures the displacement of the at least one of the power roller and the displaceable shaft.
Abstract: An apparatus for supporting a steering column has a cross member spanned over two right-and-left walls of a car body at a portion just anterior to a driver's seat, a support bracket integrally fixedly connected to a portion, aligned with the driver's seat, of an intermediate portion of the cross member, a supported bracket fixedly connected to an intermediate portion of the steering column, and a connecting member for connecting the support bracket and the supported bracket to each other with no intermediary of other brackets.
