  • Patent number: 4883651
Abstract: A deodorant is described which contains an extract of Coffea arabinensis which optionally can be combined with an extract of Thea sinensis. These extracts have deodorizing characteristics, which can be further considerably increased by combination with extracts of Urtica and knotgrass. The inventive deodorant is in particular suitable for room air improving products and body deodorants.

  • Patent number: 4841994
Abstract: The mouth-piece comprises a tubular body which accommodates a filter element which defines, with the inner walls of the tubular body, a first collection chamber for the combustion products, while a second collection chamber for the condensation products is defined in the same tubular body by a slot which extends into the tubular body and is rigidly connected thereto. The filter element has a nucleus of truncated cone shape, which is completely inserted inside the tubular body and has a face in abutment with the end of a cigarette.

  • Patent number: 4810132
Abstract: A pipe tensioner machine for off-shore pipe laying operations having adjustable squeeze elements for the transfer of tension to the pipes comprises four tensionbanks orientated in an angle of substantially 90.degree. to each other and adjustable by an adjustment device mounted within a frame structure. The tension banks are moveable along guides, said guides having an inclination with respect to the horizontal of substantially 22.5.degree.. The tensionbanks comprise revolving tracks supported by rollers which in turn are supported in groups by levers.

  • Patent number: 4778566
Abstract: The invention consists of an energy-saving circuit for rectification columns in continuously operated distillation plants and various embodiments of this circuit. Both the total dephlemation heat and the total waste heat of the depleted solution stream can be simultaneously utilized for preheating enriched initial solution by using this circuit, over a wide range of separations. This heat recovery is possible using a parallel-flow dephlegmator whose vapor sides are connected in parallel to the rectification column enrichment section and which is preferably cooled by a portion of the cold enriched initial solution stream. From a partial stream of the vapor mixture existing at the beginning of the rectification column stripping section, product vapor of the required purity and condensate reflux for the vapor side of the unloaded column enrichment section are obtained simultaneously, in this manner.

  • Patent number: 4757753
Abstract: The present specification discloses an improved type of "Espresso" coffee machine where the means (22) for the production and distribution of hot water and steam are independent from the means (5) used for the production of the espresso coffee itself. In this way the construction of the "espresso" coffee machines is very simplified and is possible to easily assemble various type of machines to meet whatever customer's requirements.

  • Patent number: 4738207
Abstract: A non-polluting method of, and apparatus for, burning fuel to produce heat and a CO.sub.2 -rich hot flue gas stream is described. Fuel (e.g., coal, oil, gas, wood, inter alia) is passed into a gasifier bed (12) containing particles of calcium sulfate and, optionally, calcium oxide. Bed 12 is fluidized by product gas containing an oxygen-transfer mediator (or source thereof) such as hydrogen, and fuel is partially oxidized to gas-phase products including CO and CO.sub.2 at a temperature above the carbonation temperature of calcium oxide, calcium sulfate being reduced to calcium sulfide. The gas-phase products are passed into the base of a combustion bed (28) containing particles of calcium sulfate in the presence of an oxygen-transfer mediator and CO is oxidized to CO.sub.2 at a temperature above the carbonation temperature of calcium oxide. Calcium sulfide-containing particles from the gasifier and combustion beds (12 and 28) are fluidized by an oxidizing gas (e.g.

  • Patent number: 4735065
Abstract: The invention deals with a process for the energy-saving automatic control of the concentration of evaporating coolant mixtures, especially of water-containing ammonia solutions in evaporators of refrigerating machines and heat pumps based on the absorption principle, together with different embodiments for carrying out the process. The process makes possible the combined utilization of the vaporization potential of the solution outflow and the cooling potential of the cold vapor withdrawn for subcooling the condensate feed, while selecting the minimum temperature difference between the subcooled not-yet-depressurized condensate feed and the boiling coolant mixture in the evaporator as the control variable for process automatization. This temperature difference is independent of the saturation pressure of the boiling coolant mixture and can be maintained constant for every evaporator load point to obtain an energy-saving solution outflow.
