  • Patent number: 6167272
Abstract: It is known to introduce into a cellular mobile radio network (CN) a test transmitter (TS) which transmits a test signal for reception by mobile stations located in the coverage area of the mobile radio network. A simple, computer-aided method for testing the mobile radio network is disclosed in which the test transmitter (TS) transmits the test signal on a carrier already assigned to a base station (BTS) of the mobile radio network (CN) for transmitting broadcast signals. Thus, each mobile station can receive the test signal in a simple manner. The receive level is transmitted to the base station serving the area in which the mobile station is located, and then passed on to a computer for analysis.

  • Patent number: 6093002
Abstract: A hose has an internal longitudinal channel in its sidewall as a safety device, to provide a prompt indication of impending failure or leakage into or out of the hose. A hose pump featuring such a hose is an improvement over conventional peristaltic pumps. A squeezing member constricts the hose to move a conveyed product along the hose, thereby causing wear on the hose. Such wear usually manifests itself first as a leak through an inner liner of the hose into the channel. The entrance of conveyed product into the channel, which can be detected by a change in pressure or electrical conductivity, is used as an indicator for wearing out of the hose. The use of such a hose minimizes release of hazardous conveyed materials from the hose into the environment or contamination of conveyed sensitive materials such as foodstuffs by the surrounding environment.

  • Patent number: 5933573
Abstract: An electric motor (12) is supplied with current (i.sub.mot) via a semiconductor switch (14). During operation, the semiconductor switch (14) is driven by a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) unit 15 using a pulse-formed signal (32). For regulation of the duty ratio of this pulse-formed signal, a first analog signal, which is a function of at least a first motor parameter, is fed to the PWM unit. Further, a second analog signal (STBGR), which is a function of at least a second motor parameter, is fed to the PWM unit for regulation of the duty ratio. As long as the second motor parameter does not exceed a predetermined value, the duty ratio is predominantly controlled by the value of the first analog signal. When the second motor parameter exceeds the predetermined value, the duty ratio is at least predominantly controlled by the value of the second motor parameter, in order to control this second motor parameter through the PWM unit.
