Abstract: The distribution of Bluetooth IDs among multiple integrated circuit testers at multiple sites for programming with a master database containing large size ID blocks, site operational databases with medium size ID blocks and tester programs with small size ID blocks provides reduced memory requirements and limits the chance of two units with a duplicate ID.

Abstract: Preprocessing for motion-compensated video encoding such as MPEG includes lowpass filtering, temporal (310) and/or spatial (312), locally per pixel in response to motion vector analysis and prediction error (304) and temporal change (306). This de-emphasizes image areas of rapid change which corresponds to human perception de-emphasis.
Abstract: Stabilization for devices such as hand-held camcorders segments a low-resolution frame into a region of reliable estimation, refines the motion vectors of that region hierarchically while at the same time updating the segmentation, finds a global motion vector for the region at high resolution, and uses the global motion vector to compensate for jitter.
Abstract: A semiconductor device with a semiconductor die thereon and a contactor board are electrically coupled when the electrically conductive elements on the semiconductor device and the contactor board are in physical contact. A continuous electrically conductive path is formed with electrically conductive elements involving both the semiconductor device and the contactor board. A complete electrical circuit involving both the semiconductor device and the contactor board is formed only when the relative orientation of the semiconductor device and the contactor board have predetermined relationship and the electrically conductive elements of the two boards are in good physical contact.

Abstract: A decoder for code excited LP encoded frames with both adaptive and fixed codebooks; erased frame concealment uses repetitive excitation plus a smoothing of pitch gain in the next good frame, plus multilevel voicing classification with multiple thresholds of correlations determining linear interpolated adaptive and fixed codebook excitation contributions.
Abstract: A system for, and method of, noisy automatic speech recognition employing joint compensation of additive and convolutive distortions and a digital signal processor incorporating the system or the method. In one embodiment, the system includes: (1) an additive distortion factor estimator configured to estimate an additive distortion factor, (2) an acoustic model compensator coupled to the additive distortion factor estimator and configured to use estimates of a convolutive distortion factor and the additive distortion factor to compensate acoustic models and recognize a current utterance, (3) an utterance aligner coupled to the acoustic model compensator and configured to align the current utterance using recognition output and (4) a convolutive distortion factor estimator coupled to the utterance aligner and configured to estimate an updated convolutive distortion factor based on the current utterance using differential terms but disregarding log-spectral domain variance terms.
Abstract: Automatic white balancing and/or autoexposure as useful in a digital camera extracts color channel gains from comparisons of image colors with reference colors under various color temperature illuminants and/or extracts exposure settings from illuminance mean, illuminance variance, illuminance minimum, and illuminance maximum in areas of an image with a trained neural network.
Abstract: System and method for driving an LCD using a data-dependent, logic-level drive scheme. A preferred embodiment comprises determining a desired state of each pixel in an LCD pixel segment, deriving a drive waveform based upon the state of all pixels in the LCD pixel segment, and outputting the drive waveform to the LCD pixel segment. By using the states of all the pixels in the LCD pixel segment in the determination of the drive waveform, it is possible to increase the on and off voltage to help improve display quality.
Abstract: An interface unit is provided in a JTAG test and debug procedure involving a plurality of processor cores. The interface unit includes a TAP unit. A switch unit is coupled to the interface unit and switch units are coupled to each of the plurality of processor/cores. When the processor/cores have advanced power management systems, a sleep inhibit signal can be applied to the processor/core state machine preventing the state machine from entering a lower power state. The parameters of the processor/core can be tested to determine when the test and debug procedures can be implemented. When the (power) parameters are to low to permit test and debug, the test and debug unit can provide a command forcing the state machine into a state for which test and debug procedures can be implemented.
Abstract: An interface unit is provided for use with a JTAG test and debug procedure involving a plurality of processor cores. The interface unit is provided with a logic unit that can translate test and debug commands into control signals. The control signals are applied to a power state machine coupled to a processor/core. The state of the power state machine can thereby be controlled and therefore the parameters of the associated processor/core, i.e., the power and clock parameters of the processor/core. In addition, the logic unit can generate control signals for activating switches, switches that controllably selective apply the TRST signal and the TMS signal to the TAP unit of the processor/core. This capability permits the TAP units of each processor/core to be synchronized.
