  • Patent number: 6760446
Abstract: The system of the present invention includes, briefly, a point source speaker system, comprising a processor which produces a left minus right (L−R) audio signal, a right plus left (R+L) and a right minus left (R−L) audio signal; three speakers each for audibly transmitting one of the L−R, R+L and R−L audio signals; and a point source speaker enclosure for housing the three speakers in a single enclosure.

  • Patent number: 6679150
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of determining the efficiency of a gun cartridge by determining the water weight volume of the cartridge; determining the bore diameter of the gun barrel; determining the weight of the bullet; and calculating the efficiency rating of the cartridge by multiplying the water weight volume by the bore diameter and dividing by the bullet weight. The efficiency rating is optimal between 110 and 145 when the water weight volume is determined in grains, the bore diameter is determined in thousandths of inches and the bullet weight is determined in grains. One such 50 caliber gun cartridge has a casing diameter of approximately 0.688 inches and neck portion which accepts a bullet having a bore diameter of approximately 0.510 inches. The case has a length ranging from 1.75 inches to 2.5 inches measured from the primer to the mouth of the neck.

  • Patent number: 6631193
Abstract: A method of processing left and right audio signals is disclosed which reproduces the illusion of a center channel while achieving a perception by the listener of a wider speaker separation. This method is partly obtained by altering the spectral response of the left and right speaker signals to obtain left and right sets of odd and even Fourier Transforms having certain characteristics. These processed signals are re-combined with the unaltered left and right signals to produce an expanded separation image that appears to extend beyond the physical location of the actual left and right loudspeakers, and to simultaneously centralize center channel signals to a point located between the loudspeakers.

  • Patent number: 6546387
Abstract: The present invention provides a system for managing information on a computer network having a server by gathering summary data from the information provider node indicative of event changes at the information provider node by information collection agents extracting information from the information provider node based on the summary data; transmitting the extracted information to the server; storing the transmitted information in an event database; cataloging the stored information into hierarchical categories; retrieving with a delivery agent based upon the hierarchical categories selected information from the stored information; and transmitting the selected information to the client node.

  • Patent number: 6422329
Abstract: A human assisted walking robot formed by a motor, a cargo bin, a pair of legs mounted to the carrier; and a stabilizing support mounted at its proximal end to the carrier and having a wheel rotatably mounted to the distal end. The motor drives the first and second leg members resulting in a walking motion. Each leg is formed by a thigh link and a shank link. A four-bar linkage is coupled between the motor and the thigh and shank of each leg so that rotational motion generated by the motor produces a walking motion by the legs.

  • Patent number: 6213561
Abstract: A small utility vehicle, such as a motorized scooter, has an attached vehicle supporting wheel. This wheel includes a solid rubber or plastic tire removeably mounted to a central hub. The tire when mounted to the hub rolls on the ground at a peripheral ground contact surface and defines on opposite sidewall surfaces with the solid mass of the tire there between. Each sidewall surface has periodically spaced grooves. A vehicle attached brake of the compression caliper type having two flat opposing brake shoe surfaces bears on the tire sidewalls to effect braking. During braking, one flat opposing brake shoe surface of the compression caliper bears on one sidewall surface and the remaining flat opposing brake shoe surface of the compression caliper bears on the remaining sidewall surface squeezing the solid mass of the tire there between.
