Abstract: A device includes a first interface to receive a signal from a first communication link, wherein the receive signal includes out-of-band (OOB) information. A detector coupled to the first interface detects the OOB information. An encoder coupled to the detector encodes the OOB information into one or more symbols (e.g., control characters). A second interface is coupled to the encoder and a second communication link (e.g., a serial transport path). The second interface transmits the symbols on the second communication link. The device also includes mechanisms for preventing false presence detection of terminating devices.
Abstract: A method of thermally insulating an object that requires a Class A standard insulation material, said method comprising suitably locating a metallized polymeric reflective insulation material adjacent said object, wherein said polymeric material is selected from a closed cell foam, polyethylene foam, polypropylene foam, expanded polystyrene foam, multi-film layers assembly and a bubble-pack assembly. The object is preferably packaging, a vehicle or a residential, commercial or industrial building or establishment. The polymeric material may contain a fire-retardant and the bright surface of the metallized layer has a clear lacquer coating to provide anti-corrosion properties, and which meets commercial reflectance criteria.
Abstract: A modified pyrroloquinoline quinone glucose dehydrogenase that exhibits a high selectivity for glucose is provided. A modified pyrroloquinoline quinone glucose dehydrogenase is disclosed in which the amino acid residue G at Position 99 of a pyrroloquinoline quinone glucose dehydrogenase (PQQGDH) represented by SEQ ID NO: 1, or the amino acid residue G at Position 100 of the pyrroloquinoline quinone glucose dehydrogenase (PQQGDH) represented by SEQ ID NO: 3, is substituted by the amino acid sequence TGZN (where Z is SX, S, or N and X is any amino acid residue). The modified PQQGDH of the present invention may additionally comprise one or more mutations selected from the group consisting of Q192G, Q192A, or Q192S; L193X; E277X; A318X; Y367A, Y367F, or Y367W; G451C; and N452X (where X is any amino acid residue).

Abstract: The apparatus for fabricating an organic electroluminescent device which can distribute stress applied to the mask uniformly to form precise and reliable light emitting layers is disclosed. The apparatus for fabricating an electroluminescent device according to the present invention comprises a plurality of grippers disposed in a zigzag state at a periphery of a mask for clamping the mask, a plurality of jaws formed on each gripper and contacting with the mask, and power supplying units for supplying power to the grippers to stretch the mask. Each of the grippers is divided into a connecting section connected to the power supplying unit and a head section integrated into the connecting section, and a plurality of jaws are formed on the head section of each gripper, and odd (or even)-numbered grippers disposed at each side of the mask are disposed in a more forward position than even (or odd)-numbered grippers.
Abstract: A gear train of an automatic transmission realizes at least ten forward speeds and one reverse speed by combining four simple planetary gear sets with four clutches and two brakes and three friction elements are operated at each shift-speed such that the gear train has advantages of simplifying structures of the automatic transmission and improving power delivery performance and fuel economy.

Abstract: An end-connector of a select cable for a manual transmission is configured to allow a driver to perform a sufficiently smooth selecting operation even with small force by ball joint type combination between a rear protrusion of a fastener and a ball portion of a connector pin.
