  • Patent number: 7597054
Abstract: A desk that has a working platform which has a set of legs that are mounted on the bottom surface of the working platform. The legs are pivotable from a retracted position in juxtaposition with the working platform to an outwardly extended position located transverse to the working platform. Attached to each leg is a brace and this brace is swingable to engage the outer free end of the brace with an attaching plate that is fixed relative to the bottom surface of the working platform. There is a separate attaching plate for each leg. With the brace clamped to the attaching plate, each leg will be securely positioned in the extended position permitting the working platform to rest in a spaced relationship relative to a supporting surface permitting a chair to be used in conjunction with the desk with a human user to be located in the chair and the user to then perform tasks on the desk.

  • Patent number: 7588520
Abstract: Disclosed is a dumbbell of the type commonly found in a fitness center to be used as a weight training device during a weight training or exercise program. The dumbbell includes a gripping handle and a pair of collars fixedly connected to opposites ends of the handle. A series of weight plates having correspondingly different weights are adapted to be detachably connected to each other and to each one of the collars so as to enable a user to selectively and incrementally adjust the gross weight of the dumbbell to conform to his weight training program. Each weight plate carries a lock cartridge having an engagement pin moving therethrough between retracted and extended positions in response to a manual pushing force. In the extended position, the engagement pin of an additional weight plate is received within an engagement pin extension channel of an existing weight plate being carried by the dumbbell, whereby to prevent a disconnection of the additional weight plate from the existing weight plate.

  • Patent number: 7564359
Abstract: A dual in-line memory module (DIMM) and a digital flash card are disclosed including an internal, built-in RFID tag in which identification and product information is contained. The RFID tag has an RF integrated circuit chip and antenna traces spreading outwardly therefrom to permit access to the information contained by the RF chip. In the case of a DIMM, the RF integrated circuit chip and its antenna traces are located on top of or between the layers of a multi-layer laminated printed wiring board substrate. In the case of a digital flash card, the RF integrated circuit chip and its antenna traces are preferably located on top of a multi-layer printed wiring board substrate and then encapsulated within a molded cover. In the alternative, the RF chip and its antenna traces are attached to the inside of a cover that extends over and is spaced above the printed wiring board substrate.

  • Patent number: 7562570
Abstract: An ultrasonic monitor to measure the level of a fluid (e.g., oil or water) within a storage tank. The ultrasonic monitor is surrounded by a gas-tight, explosion-proof casing that is coupled to the top of the tank so that the acoustic axis of a (e.g., 59 KHz) ultrasonic transducer is directed downwardly towards the surface of the fluid. The ultrasonic transducer is encased within a protective (e.g., Delrin) housing so as to resist the hostile (e.g., acidic, gaseous vapors and extreme temperature) conditions within the tank. A main CPU is interconnected between the ultrasonic transducer and an RF transceiver having an antenna from which fluid level data calculated by the main CPU can be transmitted over a wireless communication path. A reference rod having at least one acoustic reflector located at a known distance therealong extends downwardly from the housing of the ultrasonic transducer towards the surface of the fluid.

  • Patent number: 7524288
Abstract: A holder for a conventional high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) probe to be interfaced with a stepper atop a conventional tripod, or the like, to enable a physician/surgeon to image and visually inspect the rectal and prostate areas of a patient for signs of cancer and other abnormalities so that a treatment plan can be outlined and implemented. The probe holder includes a base, a pair of wall members detachably connected to one another at the front end of the base, and a pair of stand members detachably connected to one another at the rear end of the base. A first opening is formed between the pair of wall members to enclose and reliably support the proximal end of the probe. A second opening is formed between the pair of stand members to enclose and reliably support the distal end of the probe.
