Abstract: A micromechanical structure and a method of fabricating a micromechanical structure are provided. The micromechanical structure comprises a silicon (Si) based substrate; a micromechanical element formed directly on the substrate; and an undercut formed underneath a released portion of the micromechanical element; wherein the undercut is in the form of a recess formed in the Si based substrate.

Abstract: There is provided an electronic apparatus that is free of the problems with the prior art and is capable of achieving higher efficiency of cooling the interior of the casing without sacrificing cost reduction and designing compact in size. A casing houses a plurality of circuit boards having electronic parts mounted thereon and at least one high load part that generates heat. The casing has exhaust ports formed therein for heat radiation and exhaust ports for heat radiation. The plurality of circuit boards are comprised of a first circuit board and a second circuit board. The first circuit board is disposed to extend substantially horizontally, and the second circuit board is disposed to extend substantially vertically with a horizontal gap provided between the first circuit board and the second circuit board. The at least one high load part is arranged below the horizontal gap, and the exhaust ports are arranged above the horizontal gap.
Abstract: A universal electromechanical strike locking system for doors comprising linear horizontal moving strikes in the doorjamb for locking and releasing both dead bolts and latch bolts. The system operates in doors having one or more dead bolts and/or one or more latch bolts. The system allows locking and releasing doors by either operating the conventional locking system of the door or the universal electromechanical strike locking system. The system comprises a controller with user access means that coordinates one or a plurality of electromechanical strikes in a fault tolerant method employing closed loop control.
Abstract: Recombinant nucleic acids that encode all or a portion of the megAI gene of the megalomicin polyketide synthase (PKS) of Micromonospora megalomicea are used to produce recombinant PKS enzymes in host cells to make megalomicin, megalomicin derivatives, and other polyketides that are useful as antibiotics, motilides, and antiparasitics.
