Abstract: A brake for motorcycles includes an improved brake lever assembly having a brake pad arm configured for attachment at one end to a brake pad, and connected at an opposing end to a brake actuator arm by a rotatable collar. The brake pad arm and the brake actuator arm are disposed relative to one another such that the angle of the brake pad arm is lower than the prior art, thereby enabling actuation of the brake with less foot movement and causing less fatigue in frequent braking situations. While the prior art typically has an angle of 30-35 degrees between the brake pad arm and the brake actuator arm, the present invention maintains a preferred offset angle of 50 to 65 degrees between the brake pad arm and the brake actuator arm.
Abstract: Trailer apparatus includes pneumatic shock absorber assemblies for absorbing road shocks as the trailer moves and for raising and lowering the trailer evenly. The trailer apparatus also includes king pin assemblies which may be moved relative to wheel spindles for enhanced steering while the trailer is being pulled and while the trailer is being backed up. Three embodiments of king pin assemblies and two embodiments of pneumatic shock absorber assemblies are disclosed.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for decelerating projectiles includes the use of rubber nuggets. The nuggets are preferably between 15 and 25 millimeters to decrease sluffing when disposed at an incline. Preferably, the nuggets are coated with a fire retardant which promotes adhesion in the presence of heat. If applied in a solution, the fire retardant can also be dried on the rubber nuggets to promote adhesion between the rubber pieces. Furthermore, glue may be mixed with the nuggets or applied with the fire retardant solution to further increase adhesion between the pieces of rubber and promote stability of the layer of rubber nuggets.
Abstract: A device for use with metered dose inhalers includes a housing configured with a void to receive a metered dose inhaler, an actuator assembly which is configured to selectively apply force to the metered dose inhaler to cause the metered dose inhaler to release medicament, and a cocking mechanism for placing the actuator assembly in an armed configuration. The device is configured to actuate the metered dose inhaler as the user inhales, thereby ensuring improved medicament delivery. Additionally, the device is configured to prevent the metered dose inhaler from remaining in a vented position.

Abstract: An enterostomy device for providing fluids and nutrients through a stoma formed through the abdominal wall of a patient is described. The enterostomy device, which may be configured as either a gastrostomy device or a jejunostomy device, comprises a low-profile retaining member which is configured to be unobtrusively positioned within the stomach or the intestine, and which is configured to provide sufficient surface area for contacting the stomach or intestine to prevent unintentional removal or release of the enterostomy device from the patient. The enterostomy device is also structured with a low-profile port hub for facilitating the inflation of the retaining member and feeding and venting through the stoma.
Abstract: A projectile retrieval system includes one or more valves disposed to selectively release projectiles from a bullet stop and containment system. The valves are in pneumatic communication with a tube which utilized a negative air pressure generated by a vacuum to move the projectiles from the valves to a central container. The projectile retrieval system may also include a vacuum extension which enables the same system to retrieve bullets and casings, fragments and other debris on the range.
Abstract: A pallet skirt useful for covering a pallet to improve aesthetics and reduce the risk of tripping over the pallet includes an elongate piece of material for surrounding at least a portion of the pallet and fasteners which fasten the elongate piece of material to the pallet.
Abstract: A pinch clip occluder system for infusion sets includes a housing and a clamp movably disposed within the housing to selectively occlude an infusion set. The pinch clip nests in an adapter placed on an enteral feeding pump such that when the pinch clip occluder is properly position, flow is allowed through the infusion set, but when the pinch clip occluder is not properly positioned in the adapter, flow through the infusion set is prevented.
Abstract: A lightweight orthopedic brace having no rigid structural elements is constructed from flexible material and is designed primarily to provide for restriction of rotational movement and translation about the targeted joint by providing flexible bracing members which wind in a circumferentially spiraling manner about a target joint to provide active resistance to axial rotation and translation in the joint. The bracing members are adjustable to selectively increase the amount of resistance to axial rotation. The device may further comprise an undersleeve and/or an oversleeve to provide additional compression to the joint and to facilitate the circumferential winding of the bracing members. Construction of the orthopedic brace is such that resistance to rotation is achieved in both the internal and/or external directions. The orthopedic device has a multiplicity of uses, including, but not restricted to prophylactic, post-injury/surgery, as well as proprioceptive and retraining functions.
