  • Patent number: 7888430
Abstract: The modifying powder is silk powder having an average particle diameter of 10 ?m or less, oil absorption of 130 ml/100 g or less and particle diameter of 80 ?m or less on the basis of dispersion degree evaluation with a grind gauge according to JIS K5400; or polysaccharide powder having an average particle diameter of 10 ?m or less, and ink viscosity of less than 15 Pa·s or oil absorption of 85 ml/100 g or less. Such modifying powders can be obtained through a method comprising a first pulverization process for pulverizing a starting material for modifying material using a dry-type mechanical pulverizer such as a ball mill, and a second pulverization process for pulverizing the obtained pulverized product with a jet mill to fine particles having an average particle diameter of 10 ?m or less, wherein pulverization treatment time in the first pulverization process is determined to be 40 hours or more.

  • Patent number: 7718441
Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition and a method for the determination of furfurals, in particular the chemical signal substances 5-(hydroxymethyl)furan-2-carbaldehyde (hydroxymethylfurfural, HMF) and furan-2-carbaldehyde (furfural). The determination according to the invention is based on a liquid- or dry-chemical test using barbituric acid derivatives and 4-aminophenazone derivatives.

  • Patent number: 7511096
Abstract: The invention relates to methods for producing crosslinked polyvinyl acetals, according to which a polyvinyl alcohol (A1) containing carboxyl groups is crosslinked by (i) reacting the polymer (A1) with at least one polyaldehyde of formula R9(CHO)n, and (ii) at least partly esterifying groups of formula (1) and formula (4a) with each other, said steps being performed in any order. The invention further relates to methods for producing crosslinked polyvinyl acetals, according to which a polyvinyl alcohol (A2) is crosslinked by (i) reacting the polymer (A2) with at least one compound of formula (6), (ii) adding at least one compound of formula (4b), (iii) adding a polyaldehyde of formula (5), and (iv) at least partly esterifying groups of formula (1) and structural units derived from the compound of formula (4b) with each other, the radicals R7, R8, R9, R10, and R11, and the index n being defined as indicated in the description.
