  • Patent number: 5182975
Abstract: A guide for a hand-manipulated power saw having a main support plate, the guide having a sole plate with a saw-guiding edge, and a gauge bar clamp on the sole plate at the bottom surface thereof at right angles to the guiding edge, the clamp having a resilient member spaced from the bottom surface of the sole piece to hold a gauge bar or rod directly against the work-piece.The invention includes two forms, one in which the clamp is integral with the sole plate and thus fixed in relation to the saw guiding edge, and a form in which the clamp is detachable and adjustable relative to the saw guiding edge, the clamp in this case being under the sole plate so that the gauge bar is also located under the sole plate in use.

  • Patent number: 4998298
Abstract: A portable kneeling aid for use by a human male while urinating into a conventional flush-type toilet bowl with upper rim from a kneeling position comprising a portable platform having a top surface and supporting structure secured to and beneath the top surface for supporting the top surface horizontally above a floor adjacent to the toilet bowl at a height which permits the male while kneeling with one knee upon the top surface to urinate into the toilet bowl from a level slightly above the rim of the toilet bowl, an upright standard secured to said platform and a hand grip secured to the top of said standard for supporting the male while kneeling onto the platform and while rising from a kneeling position on the platform to a standing position. A method of use for the kneeling aid includes the steps of kneeling onto the platform, urinating into the bowl and rising from the platform. • Patent number: 4979359
Abstract: A dual implement hitch for pivotal connection to the drawbar of a towing vehicle whereby a pair of implements, such as rakes, tedders and the like may be selectively towed in different relative positions without disconnecting the implements from the hitch and reconnecting same in different positions. The hitch comprises an arched longitudinal frame having a clevis at its front end for connection to a towing vehicle and a transverse frame, supported by wheels at its opposite ends, pivoted to the rear end of the longitudinal frame to swing about a vertical axes. A power actuator is connected between the arched longitudinal frame and the transverse frame for changing the angular position of the transverse frame relative to the longitudinal frame. A first drawbar, fixed to the front end of the hitch, extends rearwardly for towing as implement under the longitudinal frame, and a second drawbar, fixed to the transverse frame, rearwardly thereof for towing an implement to the rear of the hitch.

  • Patent number: 4763879
Abstract: A metal fence connector is provided for removably mounting braces to a metal T-shaped fence post thereby facilitating the use of metal fence posts where lateral strength is needed. Conventional T-shaped posts are formed with a series of longitudinally disposed knobs or projections which enable the connector of this invention to obtain interlocking attachment with the post by means of an apertured collar that selectively receives a projection as the connector is vertically positioned on the post. A wedge member is utilized to secure the connector to the post in the desired position.

  • Patent number: 4728017
Abstract: An anti-theft, portable clamp-on storage container for mounting in the load bed of a pickup truck comprises relatively movable top and bottom container sections which close to form an enclosure for goods. A screw clamp having an inverted U-shaped fixed jaw and a screw actuated movable jaw cooperable therewith is mounted with the inverted U-shaped fixed jaw supported exteriorly of the container bottom section and with the screw actuator for the movable jaw extending inside of the container. The fixed jaw is positioned to slide down over one of the side or end panels of the pickup truck load bed when the container is lowered into the floor of the load bed from above. A handle for turning the screw actuator is provided on the end of the screw actuator which is inside of the container so that the screw actuator can only be turned when the container is open.

  • Patent number: 4726001
Abstract: A device for measuring a person's quickness comprising a stopwatch, a measured length of cord, and a pair of tags. Each of the tags has a clip at one end for securing the tag to the clothing of a person whose quickness is to be measured. One tag is connected to one end of the cord by a Velcro type separable fastener, the other tag is connected by a Velcro type separable fastener to a pull strap which actuates the stopwatch to start and stop the stopwatch upon successive pulls of the pull strap. The other end of the cord is also connected to the pull strap. When the stopwatch is held at a starting position and the person being tested leaves the starting position, the tag connected to the pull strap actuates the stopwatch to turn it on and then separates from the pull strap. When the person has run a predetermined distance equal to the length of the cord, the cord pulls the pull strap to stop the stopwatch and then is separated from the tag attaching the cord to the person's clothing.

  • Patent number: 4643053
Abstract: A tool designed primarily for the removal of oil filters of the canister type. The tool is generally cup shaped and of a design to operate in a minimum of working space. The tool has finger portions defined by cut-out openings equally spaced about the central axis. Gripping surfaces in the form of spring biased roller cams mounted on the finger portions serve to secure the tool on the canister when the tool is positioned thereon and to firmly grip and lock the tool upon the canister when rotated by a suitable wrench, thereby enabling the canister to be easily removed from the engine block.

  • Patent number: 4640042
Abstract: An improved articulated fishing lure is comprised of at least a front section and a tail section which are symmetrical about a longitudinal vertical plane of symmetry and are connected with minimum longitudinal separation between sections for oscillation of the tail section relative to the front section to simulate the action of an injured minnow. A cupped cavity is provided in the front end of the tail section and the axis of articulation of the tail section relative to the front section lies in the longitudinal vertical plane of symmetry rearward of the cupped cavity and forward of the centroid of the tail section. Upper and lower bracket arms which overlie and underlie respectively the front portion of the tail section are mounted on and extend rearwardly from the rear end of the front section. The bracket arms support a pivot which extends through the tail section along the axis of articulation.

  • Patent number: 4619019
Abstract: A hand held, power operated rotary fish scaler includes a motor driven elongated scaling tool having fixed blades with tapered leading edges arranged equally spaced from one another around the axis of the scaling tool. The scaling tool includes a shank which is removably secured to both the scaling tool and motor for rotating about the axis of the shank. When the scaling tool is rotated and placed in contact with the fish, the tapered leading edges of the blades of the scaling tool slide between the fishes scales and flesh, lifting the scales away from the fish's body and discharging them in a direction perpendicular to the blades.

  • Patent number: 4561180
Abstract: A vegetation cutting apparatus of the filament type comprising a cutter head including a spindle adapted to be rotatably driven, a keyway in the spindle extending axially of the spindle, and a key member carried by the spindle and slidably movable in the keyway. A clutch means is coaxially mounted on the spindle, and a filament storage spool is mounted on the spindle, the spool being carried by and lying radially outwardly of the clutch means, whereby the clutch means and the spool rotatably move as a unit. • Patent number: 4527025
Abstract: A delayed action switch embodied in a tubular casing adapted to be incorporated in a missile or a guided projectile. For example, the Redeye missile is activated by a soldier who keeps it against his shoulder. As he pulls the trigger, the missile takes off toward a specific target such as a tank, truck or the like, a distance of a few seconds away from the soldier. Should the missile drop near the soldier and explode, the soldier would be killed; but with the delay switch of this invention incorporated in the missile, it would be deactivated before it hits the ground. Consequently, the missile would be a "dud", a non functional device. In general, the switch of our invention includes, in succession within a tubular casing, a priming charge which is ignited when the missile is first propelled into the atmosphere, and which fires an ignition charge which in turn ignites a delay charge.
