  • Patent number: 4478032
Abstract: A dual implement hitch for pivotal connection to the drawbar of a towing vehicle whereby a pair of implements, such as rakes, tedders or the like may be selectively towed in one of several modes by a simple movement of an operator without disconnecting the implements from the hitch and reconnecting same in a different position. The hitch comprises an arched longitudinal frame having a clevis at its front end for connection to the towing vehicle. The rear of the longitudinal frame is rigidly supported upon an arched transverse from which is supported by dirigible wheels at its opposite ends. A first hitch element is provided at the front end of the longitudinal frame behind the clevis for pivotally connecting a first implement to the frame, beneath the arch. A second hitch element is provided at the rear of the longitudinal frame for pivotally connecting a second implement in trailing position behind the hitch. A tie rod maintains parallel relationship of the wheels.

  • Patent number: 4459717
Abstract: A compound tool for installation of a cable tie band. The elongated tool has a transversely disposed open-ended, rectangular slot that broadly approximates the tie band in cross-section and through which the free end of a loosely assembled tie band is threaded, firmly tensioned and finger clamped on the tool handle, the tool bottom being fulcrumed on the band at the tie head. The tool is then rotated to tighten the band and secure the bundle. A cutter blade, incorporated in the tool structure, is so pivotally mounted and configured that in the shearing of the excess of tie band, the blade initiates shearing at the outside edge of the band-slot assembly and continuously during shearing exerts only a clamping force which influences the tie band into the slot.

  • Patent number: 4442996
Abstract: A tapered rotary valve plug is provided with an operating head and handle assembly for rotating and axially shifting the valve plug relative to its seat. Cam means is provided to shift the operating head and valve plug axially as a unit as the head is rotated. The operating head and handle assembly are coupled for movement as a unit. The handle assembly is provided with a manually actuated locking pin whereby the handle assembly and operating head may selectively engage the valve plug for rotation to either open or closed position. When the locking pin is disengaged from the valve plug, the handle assembly remains coupled to the operating head enabling rotation of the head independently of the plug and through the aforesaid cam means the plug may be either displaced from its seat to facilitate rotation to the desired valving position or forced into a positive tight sealing engagement with its seat after movement of the plug to the desired valving position.

  • Patent number: 4405113
Abstract: A valve body includes flow passageways across which a gate is movable with the gate having a central block sandwiched between outer seal blocks and a gate conduit alignable with the flow passageways of the valve body. Camming means along the edges of opposite faces of the central gate block cooperate with camming means on the seal blocks so that relative vertical movement between the central gate block and the seal block causes the seal blocks to expand outwardly into sealing contact with seal means on the ends of the passageway facing the gate. A main stem moves the entire gate as a unit with a coaxial cam drive shaft in the main stem having first and second oppositely threaded sections respectively engaged with the main stem and the central gate block to rapidly effect vertical movement of the central gate block upon rotation of the cam drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 4346009
Abstract: An oil separator cartridge includes a cylindrical spin-on housing having opposite inlet and outlet ends connected by an intermediate wall with the inlet end including a threaded aperture threadably mountable on an engine oil output tube having a smooth cylindrical outer end surface; a centrifugal separator rotor unit is mounted on an axially shiftable shaft in the housing for rotation and axial reciprocation for receiving oil from the oil output tube. A coil spring mounted in the housing urges the axially shiftable shaft and the centrifugal separator rotor unit toward the inlet with a force of sufficient strength to normally overcome the axial force exerted on the rotor unit by oil under normal pressure in the oil output tube; however, the coil spring permits the rotor unit to axially move away from the inlet in response to pressure surges above said normal pressure in the oil output tube to cushion the effect of such pressure surges on the cartridge.

  • Patent number: 4336723
Abstract: A power transmission for engines, motors, pumps and the like comprises a power shaft mounted to rotate about a fixed axis, an eccentric in the form of a tapered bar having arcuate ends secured on the power shaft to turn therewith, a power transmission ring having a circular internal bearing surface contacting the arcuate ends of the eccentric, a plurality of cranks connected to the power transmission ring by crankpins, each crank having a crankshaft journaled to turn about a fixed axis which is parallel to the power shaft. Power may be applied to any of the crankshafts by a motor coupled to the crankshaft or power may be applied to any crankpin by a pitman connecting the piston of an internal combustion engine or fluid motor to the crankpin. In either case, the power applied imparts non-rotary, planetary motion to the power transmission ring to turn the eccentric about the axis of the power shaft, thereby rotating the power shaft at the same speed at which each of the cranks is rotated but with more torque.
