Abstract: A suture fusing and cutting apparatus having a forcep type instrument with jaws including a cutting edge and a fusing surface. The jaws are heated or otherwise stimulated by energy to sever and fuse plastic suture material when the jaws are closed on the suture.

Abstract: A quick release locking assembly including an integral lock and protected opposite end formed in combination with a quick release apparatus for securing a wheel to a bicycle frame in a theftproof manner. The hand-operated lever of the quick release is prevented from rotating by a locking pin which engages a bore in the quick release assembly to prevent rotation thereof, while the adjustable nuts on the opposite threaded end are prevented from being removed by the end cap housing which encases and protects the nuts in a manner such that neither the end cap housing or the nuts can be removed when the assembly is mounted on a bicycle. When secured, the quick release lever cannot be rotated, nor can the nuts securing the opposite end be accessed, offering complete security to the object secured.

Abstract: An easy-out type threaded fastener extractor combination tool wherein an extractor is combined with a drill head whereby the drilling and extracting operation is performed during the same operation. The extractor is slideable upon the drill bit shaft enabling the drill bit to penetrate within the broken bolt before the extractor engages the bolt. A suitable drive head is provided for a drill chuck or other force producing device.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for conversion of quadrature signals into counter control pulses including count and direction pulses. The method includes the steps of determining the relative states of the two quadrature pulses and which of the two had the transition, comparing these two determinations to resolve direction, and generation of a count pulse for every quadrature transition. The apparatus includes logic components which provide quadrature counting with an anti-jitter feature by change of the direction of transition on either input. By a technique of dynamically operating on both edges of the quadrature pulse train and the count signal, the counter control signals are produced without storage of the quadrature train or the need to know the current state of the quadrature train.

Abstract: A glazing tool for providing a smooth and uniform bead of putty between a window pane and a window frame formed of a block suitable to be held in the hand of a user. The tool includes a bottom plate which forms a work surface to smooth the putty. A guide bar positioned at the bottom plate is adjustable along the surface of the bottom plate. The guide bar is adapted to engage the edge of a window frame while the other end of the bottom plate slides along the glass to insure the angle of the tool is maintained as a bead of putty is formed.

Abstract: A neutral body posture chair to support a user in a neutral body posture position defined as the natural position a body assumes in weightlessness where the muscle, tendon, and ligament systems acting over the joints are in total balance wherein the trunk of the body forms an angle of approximately 127 degrees with respect to the upper legs and the upper legs form an angle of approximately 127 degrees with the lower legs. The chair includes a seat formed into a bowl at the pelvic area, leg troughs support the upper legs and raised sides to maintain the user in the selected position. The seat further includes an elevated pommel which supports the pubis bone of the user to maintain the user in the desired neutral body posture angle without sliding out of the seat. The chair assembly includes a back rest, footrests, and a suitable base. The chair includes means for adjusting the vertical height of the seat, the tilt angle of the seat, the angle of the backrest, and vertical height of the backrest.

Abstract: A composition useful for smoothing the skin, reducing wrinkles, and improving the moisture level and tone of the skin having minor proportions of the pharmocologically active agents pregnenolone and elastin in a pharmaceutically acceptable hydrophillic carrier vehicle. The composition may further include substances selected from aloe vera, tocopherols, vegetable, animal and synthetic oils and waxes, allantoin, and skin penetration enhancing agents, such as the lower alkyl sulfoxides.
