  • Patent number: 7145350
Abstract: A process is disclosed for evaluating a measuring device comprising a capacitor (CM), with stages for charging the capacitor (CM) over an initial charging period (tk1, tk2) and for determining the capacitance charge as an initial measured value (tml). To determine a measuring condition that changes a normal state of the capacitance, e.g., moist as opposed to dry surroundings for the measuring cell, the process exhibits the following additional steps: charging the capacitance (CM) over a second charging period (tk2), which differs from the first charging period (tk1); determining the charge of the capacitance (CM) as a second measured value (tm2); and comparing the first and second measured values (tk1, tk2) to establish the comparative result.

  • Patent number: 7006086
Abstract: A digital imaging system is described that facilitates the location of anchors or targets in images of a scene. In one aspect, the digital imaging system makes use of differences as between the properties of the surfaces of the targets and the properties of the surfaces of the objects that are to be mensurated, reconstructed, etc., to facilitate providing uniform illumination of the targets when recording a set of images of the scene, thereby reducing noise that may arise in connection with determining the locations of the targets if they were illuminated by structured illumination, while contemporaneously providing that the objects can be illuminated by structured illumination when the images are recorded. In this aspect, the digital imaging system can use the positions of the targets in the images to relate a local coordinate system associated with the image set to a global coordinate system.

  • Patent number: 7003275
Abstract: Agile frequency converter and method, IF-RF level exchange process, and notch filtering techniques. System noise and spurious levels generated by channel frequency conversion is reduced in applications requiring broadband combining of frequency converters to form multichannel composite signal. Converter employs two-stage frequency conversion process, with gain exchange system using variable pre-mixer gain and variable post-mixer attenuation to maintain constant RF output signal power level. For those few conversion frequencies where distortion component(s) cannot be filtered without degrading desired signal, IF-RF level exchange is optimized for meeting the carrier-to-distortion (C/D) ratio specifications at slight expense of noise level for that channel only, while still meeting aggregate combined carrier-to-noise (C/N) specification requirements.
