Abstract: A champagne cork remover device is provided with a plurality of relatively movable frame members, the lowermost one being shaped to lock onto the neck of a champagne bottle, the intermediate one being adapted to be engaged beneath the cork and lift it free, and the uppermost one being adapted to serve as the carrier for a screw shaft actuator.
Abstract: A dilatation catheter is provided with a double lumen tube and inner and outer inflatable and deflatable balloon elements, one within the other. The inner bag element is twisted for retraction while the outer bag element is inflated. Subsequent deflation of the outer bag element serves to further laterally compress the inner bag element and provide a smooth buffering surface for engagement with blood vessel walls as the catheter is moved past them.
Abstract: Roofing strip and clip elements are provided with flange elements which are interengageable by tipping the strip elements first in one direction and then in the opposite direction.A sealing joint is provided by a first set of interengaged surfaces carried by batten and strip members and a second set of interengaged surfaces carried by strip and clip members.
Abstract: An earthen formation is retained by welded wire trays embedded in the formation to effect its reinforcement. A concrete face panel is cast in place at the face of the formation and reinforced by upturned ends on the trays.

Abstract: First and second rotary turrets are connected by a drive belt or chain which carries cups to carry and support the olives while they are being pitted and stuffed. Pitting takes place as the belt passes around one of the turrets and stuffing takes place while the belt passes around the other turret.A folded stuffing strip is fed radially of the stuffing turret and knives carried by the stuffing turret move transversely of the strip to cut off stuffing pieces and carry them away in vertical, stuffing alignment with the cups.

Abstract: A plug frictionally fits within the lifting eye of an anchor insert of a tilt-up wall slab. The plug is provided with pin receiving passageways whereby a pin-bearing cover plate may be attached to the plug to cover over the access recess to the anchor insert.
Abstract: The foot plates of a tilt-up wall bracing system are anchored to a concrete floor slab by means which positively clamp the floor slab to the foot plates. The clamping means include a throughbore in the floor slab, a threaded and L-shaped anchor bolt, a wedging spike, and a nut in threaded engagement with the anchor bolt.
Abstract: An educational and entertaining game for teaching and improving skills of players in the hobby of bird watching. The game includes a four-sided playing board having a continuous path around the perimeter, the path being partitioned into spaces, recessed; all of the spaces being blank with the exception of the four corners, which represent the four individual starting points for the players. The other apparatus includes the "tiles" which each player uses to construct his segment of the playing board path; four player identification pieces in different bird shapes; a set of playing cards depicting birds; a set of "mystery bird" cards providing clues to bird identities; 2 dice to determine the players' moves by chance; a binder containing bird identification information; four acetate-covered identical lists of of birds; four grease pencils (China Markers). Each tile represents a different habitat for birds, or directs players to clues for identifying birds, or directs them to another segment of the board.
Abstract: Proteins lacking isoelectric points are precipitated out of solution by combining with the solution a protein (i.e. one or more proteins) having an isoelectric point, alkalizing the mixture to a pH of about 9-11, acidifying the mixture to a pH of about 2-4, and adjusting the pH of the mixture to the isoelectric point of the protein to precipitate novel protein complexes.A novel protein-free, undenatured dairy whey valuable for lactose crystallization and alcohol production is also obtainable.
Abstract: Whole oriented items, such as onions, are sliced in a slicer by holding the items on a horizontal cutter-bearing plate and by rotating the plate to continuously remove slices from the lower ends of the items until they are fully sliced. The holding device include a box-like trap and cylinder-operated hold-down discs. The slicer knives are curved to effect a progressive, bias-type of cutting.
Abstract: A hoisting attachment for a tilt-up wall slab is provided with a remotely operable quick release mechanism which is under the control of the positional attitude of a hoisting cable-attached shackle. An improved assemblage of wall slab insert anchor, support stand for the insert anchor, and a recess former frictionally attached to the upper end of the anchor is also provided.
Abstract: A roof parapet mounting bracket is provided with a pivotally mounted clamp for connection to hot tar pipes. It is also provided with a roller guide for a tar valve control rope.
Abstract: A swimming pool cleaner of the random movement type having a surface transporter which rollingly engages the pool walls and a jet drive which reverses or changes direction when the transporter is stopped or slowed is provided with additional controls which as a consequence of the turning movement of the transporter against the deep end pool wall causes the transporter to travel back and forth along said deep end wall and thereby spend more time along said wall.
Abstract: A rigid face member is held in place at the face of an earthen formation by anchor elements embedded within the formation. Deformable sections are incorporated into the anchor elements adjacent the face member to permit the anchor elements to move with the formation in the event of earthquake or settling, while maintaining the face member in place.

The inner bag element is twisted for retraction while the outer bag element is inflated. Abstract: A socket cavity formed in a concrete slab of the type poured horizontally and subsequently tilted up, which cavity affords engagement of hoisting equipment to the slab. The inner portion of the cavity is in the form of a frusto-conical wall surface communicating with the surface of the cavity through a cylindrical bore concentric with the frusto-conical surface. The cavity is formed by placing in the slab form an expendable flask-like hollow article formed of synthetic resin or the like which is left in the slab after erection thereof. Engaging apparatus cooperable with the cavity which has on the inner end thereof arms that are pivotally moveable between a retracted position and an extended position, the arms engaging the frustoconical wall of the cavity when in the extended position.
