Abstract: A lipid construct comprising an aminomannose derivatized cholesterol suitable for targeting smooth muscle cells and tissue. Preferred formulations contain 6-(cholest-5-en-3.beta.-yloxyl)hexyl-6-amino-6-deoxy-1-thio-.alpha.-D-mann opyranoside in liposome formulations wherein the formulations are delivered generally to arteries using percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty procedures. These formulations have applications in the reduction of restenosis.
