Abstract: A device is provided for a system for displacing (e.g. lifting, transporting, lowering, etc.) persons between various positions or areas such as for example between a bed and a chair, a bed and a bathroom etc. The device comprises a winch assembly whereby a reel component and a motor may be decoupled so as to allow for the manual paying out of an elongated flexible support member to facilitate the attachment thereto of a harness holding a person.

Abstract: Assemblies, systems, and devices are provided for the brewing of a beverage (e.g. coffee, or tea). The invention, in particular, provides a brew chamber assembly for an apparatus for preparing a beverage from an aqueous medium and a particulate beverage material; the chamber assembly may, for example, be used in automated beverage making machines. The brew chamber assembly may comprise a brewing vessel and a spent coffee grounds discharge mechanism. The brewing vessel comprises a floor and side wall elements. The spent particulate beverage material discharge mechanism comprises an exit element for venting spent particulate beverage material out of the brewing vessel and a spinable impellor for urging spent particulate beverage material out of the brew chamber through the exit element.

Abstract: A horizontal bar exercising device for use in a room having a floor and a ceiling, the device comprising first and second support posts designed to extend vertically between the floor and ceiling and a horizontal bar having first and second ends interconnected with the first and second posts respectively by sleeve members, the sleeve being slidable along the first and second posts by means of friction reducing means interposed therebetween to minimize binding between the sleeves and posts. The device preferably includes extension arms located at the upper distal end, each of the extension arms having a pressure rod to indicate a preset pressure to be applied to the ceiling.
Abstract: A support generally comprisinga mast component,a boom component extending forwardly from the mast component,and a stabilizing component for maintaining the support in a working disposition. The support may be used in conjunction with a lifting pole for forming a hoist system. The support and hoist system may be used to support or raise and lower an object such as a chute for debris.
