  • Patent number: 8351555
Abstract: In an example embodiment a method comprises receiving at least one data stream from at least two transmitter antennas, wherein the at least one data stream is pre-coded by a set of weighting coefficients; receiving a pilot channel from each of the at least two transmitter antennas; processing the received at least one data stream by an equalizer with a set of equalizer filter coefficients; calculating for each of the at least one data stream following: a signal power and an interference power from other stream, if there is any intererence, at least in part based on a set of post equalizer channel coefficients and the set of weighting coefficients; a noise power at least in part based on the received pilot channels and the set of weighting coefficients; and a signal to interference and noise ratio based on the corresponding calculated signal power, interference power and noise power.

  • Patent number: 8331252
Abstract: A first parameter such as an indicator of modulation and coding scheme MCS for a first shared channel SCH codeword and a second parameter for a second SCH codeword are determined. From a locally stored mapping rule a bit sequence that explicitly indicates the first parameter and that implicitly indicates the second parameter is chosen, and a first control channel CCH codeword is transmitted with the explicit bit sequence that explicitly indicates the first parameter for the first SCH codeword and a second CCH codeword is sent companion to the first CCH codeword, wherein the second parameter for the second SCH codeword is implicitly indicated by the explicit bit sequence of the first CCH codeword. The receiving party determines the second parameter by its own locally stored mapping rule, and an indicator in each CCH codeword may be used to inform the receiver that the two (or more) CCH codewords are associated with one another and to use its mapping rule to determine the second parameter.

  • Patent number: 8284237
Abstract: There is disclosed methods and apparatuses for multi-view video encoding, decoding and display. A depth map is provided for each of the available views. The depth maps of the available views are used to synthesize a target view for rendering an image from the perspective of the target view based on images of the available views.

  • Patent number: 8280427
Abstract: Measured are received power of a first signal received from a first entity, and received power of a second signal received from a second entity. A gain factor (or a matrix of gain factors if multiple antennas are used) is determined using the measured received powers of the first signal and of the second signal. If transmit power from the apparatus to the second entity is considered as the benchmark, the second signal is forwarded from the apparatus to the first entity using a second signal transmit power that is determined using the gain factor. Or, if transmit power from the apparatus to the first entity is considered as the benchmark, the first signal is forwarded from the apparatus to the second entity using a first signal transmit power that is determined using the gain factor. Method, apparatus, and memory storing computer program are detailed.

  • Patent number: 7480915
Abstract: Mapping functionality is added in between a Wireless Village (WV) server and a Presence, Messaging and Group (PMG) server of a 3GPP IP (Internet Protocol) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) to permit interoperability between WV and IMS clients for instant messaging and presence services for operators who have deployed both IMS and WV. Due to the possibility that an operator may have deployed WV but not IMS and due to the use of a Client-to-Server Protocol (CSP) between WV clients and WV servers and the use of a Server-to-Server Protocol (SSP) between WV servers, the mapping functionality is structured to permit an IMS device to register into WV system via an IMS/WV Relay that performs an SIP/CSP conversion to emulate a WV device login but to then use the SSP to maintain a session or to deliver a message or presence information. Likewise, a WV device can register directly into IMS for operators not deploying WV using the mapping functionality of the present invention, e.g., in an IMS/WV Relay.
