Abstract: An aircraft collision avoidance system is disclosed which presents target or threat information to a pilot using a pair of doppler radar transceiver systems directed orthogonally about and centered on the user aircraft's pitch plane to produce binaural audio tones that by their amplitude, frequency and phase difference allow the user pilot to visualize the location and closing rate of a potential target or threat, aurally, while maintaining an effective visual traffic scan.
Abstract: The invention herein discloses a separable web or ribbon container wherewith the web or ribbon remains within the separated container halves so that additions to or deletions from the web may be made without removing the spools on which the web is wound for transport back and forth between the halves.
Abstract: A method that produces a uniformly rubblized oil shale bed of desirable porosity for underground, in-situ heat extraction of oil. Rubblization is the generation of rubble of various sized fragments. The method uses explosive loadings lying at different levels in adjacent holes and detonation of the explosives at different levels in sequence to achieve the fracturing and the subsequent expansion of the fractured oil shale into excavated rooms both above and below the hole pattern.
Abstract: A radial high-frequency, high-efficiency orthospectral loudspeaker is disclosed in which a horn-loaded, electro-acoustic driver is used and the horn configuration is radial and annular to give a 360.degree. lateral dispersion of the sound generated by the loudspeaker, the output being frequency and amplitude equalized over the desired high frequency band.
Abstract: A rodent bait station is disclosed comprising an H-shaped enclosure in which the transverse element of the H configuration contains a baffled bait repository so disposed that the rodent may enter the station or device and have access to the bait without being able to enter the bait containing area, and also having a secured bait recharging element which may be removable and which may be stored or shipped.
Abstract: An on-site apparatus that produces cryogenic temperatures is used to remove, by condensation, all pollutants in the air so that an ultra clean air supply is obtained for human consumption in the interior of living enclosures, such as automobiles, homes, offices, hospitals etc. In accordance with one embodiment of the invention, it can recycle the air in the enclosure, i.e. resupply the oxygen consumed by the human being and remove the carbon dioxide produced by respiration. The cryogenic temperatures are produced by a closed-cycle operated refrigeration system consisting of a compressor, a Joule-Thompson valve (JTV), multi-stage heat exchangers and expanders. Cold traps (filters) of different cryogenic temperatures are built into the system to condense pollutants of different condensation temperatures. The condensed pollutants can be disposed of by periodical defrost and purge of the system.
Abstract: The integrated universal tool is a novel combination tool which provides these functions: A locking knife blade, a locking saw blade, a locking Phillips bladed screwdriver, a locking small flat bladed screw driver, a locking large flat bladed screwdriver, a crescent wrench, graduated calipers for measuring inside and outside dimensions, left and right-handed shears, a nibbler, a wire stripper, and an electrical terminal crimping tool. This combination of tools is allowed by the use of the integrated universal. The universal is a universal joint located at the end opposite the crescent wrench. The blades of the tool are fastened to this universal joint and can be rotated into the extended or retracted positions about its two axes. This allows three extended blade positions and one closed position. The integration is the integrating slide.
