    Abstract: The present invention is a polyurethane prepolymer comprising the reaction product of: A) a polyisocyanate; B) one or more compounds or polymers having isocyanate-reactive moieties. C) a dispersion triol containing from about 10 to about 60 percent by weight based on the dispersion of particles of an organic polymer which is nonreactive with the polyols and polyisocyanates having a particle size of from about 5 to about 50 microns; wherein the prepolymer has a free isocyanate content of from about 0.8 to about 2.2 percent, the weight ratio of diol to triol and dispersion triol is from about 0.8 to about 1.2. In another embodiment the invention is a one-part adhesive composition comprising the polyurethane prepolymer of the invention and a catalyst capable of catalyzing the reaction of isocyanate moieties with water.

    Abstract: The invention comprises a mold useful for the preparation of a polyurethane based article comprising a metal coated on the surfaces to come in contact with the polyurethane materials wherein the coating is a continuous matrix of cobalt or nickel having dispersed in such discontinuous matrix a fluorinated polyolefin polymer. In another aspect the invention is a process for injection molding a part from polyurethane materials which process comprises injecting polyurethane based materials into a mold as described above, exposing the injected materials to conditions such that a solidified article is formed and removing the formed article from the mold. In another aspect the invention is an article comprising polyurethane material prepared by injection molding which contains about 0.5 percent by weight or less of an internal mold release and which can be coated in an industrial coating process without the need for a sealer coated on the article.

    Abstract: In one aspect, this invention is a polyurethane sealant composition comprising (1) a urethane prepolymer having an isocyante functionality of at least about 2.0 and a weight average molecular weight of at least about 2,000; (2) a catalytic amount of a tin compound which catalyzes the reaction of isocyanate moieties with water or an active hydrogen containing compound; and (3) a stabilizing amount of an organophosphite which has an alkaryl ligand or both an aliphatic ligand and an aromatic ligand. The prepolymer may further comprises silane functionality or the composition may further comprise a compound or polymer which contains silane moieties and is compatible with the polyurethane prepolymer. The invention is also a method for bonding glass to a substrate which comprises contacting a sealant according to the invention with glass and another substrate with the sealant disposed between the glass and substrate and thereafter allowing the sealant to cure so as to bond the glass to the substrate.

In another embodiment, the invention is a method of coating a substrate to reduce the impact of noise vibration and harshness on the substrate or users of the substrate, which process comprises spraying the above defined composition on to a substrate and curing the resin on such substrate. In yet another embodiment the invention is a coated substrate described herein before having enhanced noise vibration and harshness properties.

An improved vehicle panel, wherein the improvement is a polyurethane modified epoxy coating (or a coating which is an interpenetrating network of polyurethane resin and epoxy resin) on the panel.
