Abstract: A hanger assembly for suspending an external store from an aircraft includes left and right side panels in hinged connection to a center panel, where the panels, in combination, form a band for substantially circumferentially surrounding the external store. The center panel includes an interface for engagement with an attachment pod on an aircraft, and the side panels are fastened in tension to each other diametrically opposite the interface. The length, thickness and material strength of the band are selected to minimize the bending moment, which is induced in the hanger assembly based on loading experienced during operational use, at a region of the band at which an interface is established with the aircraft.

Abstract: A process for obtaining purified hemicellulose, cellulose and cellulose-hemicellulose complexes comprising the steps of adding alcohol to caustic liquor from alkali extraction of fiber to precipitate the hemicellulose and the simultaneous, or about simultaneous, density separation of hemicellulose from the caustic liquor. The alcohol transforms the soluble high molecular weight hemicellulose into a light precipitate which floats on top of the caustic liquor solution. The caustic liquor can be subjected to a second separation step whereby the insoluble components (e.g. cellulose and cellulose-hemicellulose complexes) can be removed from the caustic liquor.

Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a lever switch capable of reliably preventing intrusion of water or the like into a casing and maintaining smooth operation of a switch mechanism for a long period of time. A lever switch provided with a switch mechanism whereby an operation lever rotates from a neutral position on a base against a spring force of a coil spring to change the position of the switch, a gap between the operation lever and base is filled with a casing, the switch mechanism is accommodated in the casing and a waterproof/dustproof mechanism is provided to seal a sliding surface between the operation lever and casing and a contact surface between the base and casing with an upper lip packing and lower lip packing respectively.

Abstract: A storage caching method and system manages shared access to real time data files while maintaining data file coherency and consistency in a computer network including a plurality of remote computer workstations and at least one file server. The storage caching system is implemented by storage caches, which are associated with workstations, and a cache server, which is associated with a file server, where the storage caches and the cache server interface with a distributed file system to provide shared access to real time data files by remote workstations.

Abstract: A data storage system including data sending/receiving nodes and a relay node, which is provided between the data sending/receiving nodes and a network, for relaying data between said data sending/receiving nodes and said network. The relay node has a meta-data memory for registering data processes which should be conducted in the relay node as meta-data, and a data processor for conducting data process in accordance with the processes defined by the meta-data registered in said meta-data registering memory. In the relay node, meta-data designated by said data sending/receiving node is selected from the meta-data registering memory, and data sent from said data sending/receiving node or data received by said data sending/receiving node is processed in accordance with the processes defined by the selected meta-data.

Abstract: The present invention relates to biphenyl and biphenyl-analogous compounds, their preparation and use as pharmaceutical compositions, as integrin antagonists and in particular for the production of pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment and prophylaxis of cancer, arteriosclerosis, restenosis, osteolytic disorders such as osteoporosis and ophthalmic diseases. Abstract: A device is described which includes a vertical body, the vertical body having contained therein a wick and a source of a vaporizable material. The vertical body further includes at an open end a silky material with irregular shapes to simulate the profiles of a flame such as a candle flame. Abstract: Selectivity embossed surface coverings are prepared by mechanically embossing a wear layer which overlays at least one printing ink containing a photoinitiator which has been printed in a pattern or design. The embossed wear layer is subjected to ultraviolet radiation which causes curing of the wear layer in the surface areas disposed over the printing ink. The product then is fused whereby the mechanical embossing in surface areas which are not disposed over the printing ink relaxes and becomes smooth. In a variant of the invention, a thermoplastic wear layer is employed which can be mechanically embossed in the surface areas which are not disposed over the printing ink with a texture different from the first applied mechanical embossing. In another variant, two different spectral regions of UV curing radiation are used so that a urethane coating can be employed as a top coat with a selectively embossed surface.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for selecting products, wherein with each product there is associated a data set with a plurality of product characteristics, wherein the selection of a product is performed based on criteria selected by a user relating to the characteristics, and wherein the selection is displayed on a graphic display unit. The object of the invention to simplify the selection process in such a way that the number of results is limited by simplifying the criteria for the characteristics, is solved by setting the criteria for the characteristics on at least two scales and setting the criteria on the scales with the help of at least one input device in conjunction with the graphic display unit.
