Abstract: A heating value meter for gases has an outer cylindrical mantle with an outer thermostatic heating apparatus and at least one inlet for introduction of air and at least one inlet for introduction of test or calibration gas. The outer mantle has an outer heating mantle and a bottom part containing an outer sensor of the outer thermostatic apparatus. A cylindrical measuring block is located coaxially inside the outer mantle and is equipped with an axially inserted internal sensor of an electrical remote thermometer of an internal thermostatic apparatus. The heating mantle, the outer sensor, an electrical heating block and an internal sensor, are interconnected via the outer and internal thermostatic apparatus and are adjusted for maintaining a constant temperature by regulation of the electrical input to the electrical heating block, or by the input to the heating mantle where, in addition, the measuring apparatus is connected by an electric lead to the electrical heating block.
Abstract: A spring support for a motor vehicle has a center tube frame with a backbone tube supported through a pair of spaced apart transverse beams, and a pair of final drive casings spaced apart and mounted to the center tube frame on the backbone tube. Pairs of half-axles are mounted for swinging motion on each final drive casing. Pairs of fluid springs are mounted between a bracket connected to the backbone tube and each half-axle by seats provided on each bracket engaged with the fluid spring. Each seat is oriented to form an acute angle with a vertical axis symmetry plane of the center tube frame. Inclined rigid struts having an upper portion and a foot portion connect each fluid spring, to the corresponding half-axle. An embodiment in which two pairs of half-axles are supported on the center tube frame by fluid springs and a mechanical spring connected at a spring center to each side of the central tube frame further supports one half-axle of each pair of half-axles is also provided.

Abstract: An apparatus, method and purge concentrate are capable of purging water-based and non-water-based paints and other coatings from automated and manual equipment using non-VOC containing aqueous purge solutions. Purge solutions of the invention contain water, detergent builder and wetting agents. The solution is maintained at a selected concentration and at a selected elevated temperature range by continuously recirculating the solution through the automated coating equipment. For manual equipment the solution is set at the correct concentration and maintained at the correct temperature range. For an automated system, spent purge solutions can be reconditioned and recirculated to avoid waste.

Abstract: A machine tool for machining panels, plates and discs, is fitted with a number of workpiece clamping devices (10) that move along a work bench (20) of the machine tool. The machine tool has sensors (8) designed to detect the position of the clamping devices (10), and a unit (2) built into the operating head (15) of the machine tool, which engages the clamping devices (10) to move them to preset positions on the bench (20) by one or more relative movements between the head (15) and the bench (20).
Abstract: A resealable cap for a drink bottle having a pump for pressurizing a liquid in the bottle and a tight sealing connection with a threaded bottle neck. The pump is a tube having a soft resinous stepped base within a cylinder which extends downward through the neck into the interior of the bottle. A seal is formed between the base of the tube and the cylinder wall. At the base of the cylinder is a valve for allowing air compressed by the soft base and tube to flow into the bottle and which is sealed shut by the higher pressure created in the bottle when the soft base is retracted. The soft base has a small expandable slit adjacent the tube and above the step forming the seal through which deforms so that air can enter the cylinder on the upstroke. The slit is compressed closed on the downstroke and prevents air from leaving so it is instead forced through the valve.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for achieving reverse osmosis, microfiltration, nanofiltration and ultrafiltration, produces Dean vortices against a membrane surface which is advantageously in a form of a wound helical membrane tube.
Abstract: A deck of fortune telling cards and method of playing a fortune telling game includes multiple people cards which depict people of different genders and age ranges. A person whose fortune is to be told is identified with one of the cards by writing the person's name on the card. The deck includes internal condition cards which depict different human conditions including emotions and attitudes. Quantity cards which indicate measurements of time and distance are included as are relationship cards which depict different human relationships. External influence cards depict different external influences such as good or bad news. Action cards such as advice, help/assistance, review carefully, talking it over, fixing it, and the like and result cards such as recognition/success/reward, good legal and the like, are also present.
Abstract: A process is described for preparing octahydro trisodium salt of fructose 1,6-diphosphate starting from an aqueous solution at an acid pH of D-fructose 1,6-diphosphate, to which a suitable amount of acetone is added. The reactive mixture is crystallized and filtered to obtain the desired product, which is finally dried.
Abstract: Vacuum treatment apparatus including at least two chambers that are linked by a transit opening. A valve body pivotally linked within the opening pivots around a pivot axis that is disposed transversely in the opening. A drive for pivoting the valve body around the pivot axis also provided. The valve body has at least one workpiece carrier to be transported by pivoting the valve body around the pivot axis between the two chambers. An expandable seal arrangement is provided around the opening. The seal arrangement is expandable by pressure of a pressurizing medium, so as to seal the body against the opening in dependency of the pressure of the pressurizing medium.
Abstract: The heat protection element comprises carrier elements, for example in the form of glass plates. In an interspace between, in each instance, two glass plates a protection layer comprising a cured polysilicate which is formed of alkali silicate and at least one curing agent is disposed. In the polysilicate, a molar ratio of silicon dioxide to alkali metal oxide is set to be greater than 4:1. The starting composition for the polysilicate is a free-flowable composition having a water content of up to 60 percent and capable of being introduced into the interspace between two carrier elements. After curing the composition, the high water content is retained and the polysilicate has nevertheless good inherent strength and adhesion on the carrier elements.
