  • Patent number: 8209784
Abstract: A helmet having a shell configured to fit about a head of a wearer of the helmet. The shell includes a top portion that defines a front edge and a bottom portion adjoining the top portion. The bottom portion defines a first side edge integral with a first end of the front edge and a second side edge integral with a second end of the front edge. The front edge, first side edge, and second side edge define a segment of a circumference of the shell. The helmet includes a faceguard comprising a faceguard assembly formed in a substantially closed loop. A top portion of the faceguard assembly overlies the top portion of the shell and substantially overlies and coincides with an entire shape of the front edge. • Patent number: 8172288
Abstract: A gripper for holding two-dimensional components with a low degree of loading, has a clamping ring connected to a controllable robot arm with a baffle plate connected to the clamping ring by a funnel-shaped component and has a gripping face which communicates with a flow system which passes through the funnel-shaped component and the baffle plate. After an excess pressure has been applied to the gripper, a negative pressure is produced on the gripping face in order to attach by suction a wafer to be gripped. A rubberized bearing surface of a bearing ring integrated in the gripping face provides a slip-resistant movement of the wafer. A sensor detects the wafer hat is attached to the gripping face by suction.

  • Patent number: 8168763
Abstract: Ferritin 2 is a tick secreted protein, which serves in the tick plasma as a non-heme iron transporter from the gut to the peripheral tissues. It can be exploited as an antigen for raising up host antibodies, which can reversely block this antigen in the tick and the attached tick will not have functional mechanism of the non-heme iron transport from the gut to the peripheral tissues. This mechanism is essential for the further tick development and its blocking eventually prevents transmission of tick-borne pathogens.
