  • Patent number: 6477796
Abstract: A tip of a tooth assembly for a ground engaging implement or bucket is constructed with a necked down portion to provide the tip with a reduced cross-section sufficient to cause the tip to fail at the necked down portion when the tip is subjected to a sufficiently large vertical load in order to prevent the breakage of an adapter on which the tip is mounted. The tip also has side ears with side surfaces that are disposed at a slight angle relative to their mating side surfaces of the adapter ear pockets so as to diverge away from the side surface of their respective ear pocket. This construction prevents the distal ends of the ears from contacting the side surfaces when the tip experiences high side or lateral loads in order to alleviate lateral loads from being exerted on the distal ends of the ears through lateral contact with the adapter.

  • Patent number: 6079938
Abstract: A skid steer loader has a pair of lift arms pivotally mounted to a main frame of the loader. The lift arms are connected together by a cross member located at the forward ends of the arms. The cross member is spaced ahead of a front wall member of the main frame when the lift arms are in their lowered positions so as to create a gap between the cross member and the cross member and the front wall member of the main frame where the operator enters the loader. A combination step/stop arrangement is carried on the front wall member to provide a skid resistant stepping surface across the gap between the front wall member of the main frame and the cross member of the lift arm assembly and to prevent the lift arm assembly from moving past its lowered position.

  • Patent number: 5860734
Abstract: Roading lamp assemblies for use on a construction machine are typically mounted to a frame assembly or similar structure. During operation of the construction machine, the roading lamp assembly experiences vibration which may damage an illuminating apparatus therein. The present invention includes utilization of inner and outer resilient members on either side of a housing assembly which is secured to the frame through a plate member and bolts. The plate member has a plurality of legs which extend through a plurality of mounting holes in the housing assembly, the inner and outer resilient members and the frame. The pair of resilient members are pre-loaded through adequate torqueing of the bolts in cooperation with the plurality of legs to protect the illumination apparatus from damage during extreme vibration. Additionally, a harness assembly which supplies electrical energy to a lamp in the roading lamp assembly passes internally through the frame to an interior chamber in the housing assembly.

  • Patent number: 3952510
Abstract: Flow sensing and control apparatus is provided to selectively combine the fluid output of an auxiliary pump with a hydraulic system. The apparatus includes a valve body having a primary pump passage therein through which fluid from one of a pair of primary pumps is conducted to its respective inlet of a control valve, an auxiliary pump passage interconnected between the auxiliary pump and the primary pump passage and a fluid receiving passage which is connected to the auxiliary pump passage. A pilot operated valve is disposed within the fluid receiving passage and operative in response to fluid flow through the primary pump passage for selectively controlling fluid to the fluid receiving passage so as to permit the combining of any available fluid from the auxiliary pump with that of the primary pump up to a predetermined minimum flow rate through the primary pump passage and for diverting any excess fluid from the auxiliary pump to the receiving passage above that necessary to maintain the minimum flow rate.

  • Patent number: 3945693
Abstract: A track roller has a stepped diameter shaft with a pair of spaced shoulders and an outer track engaging rim with a pair of opposite end faces individually substantially alignable with the shoulders of the shaft. A rim clamping and positioning device is disposable in opposing sliding relation against the shoulders of the shaft for rotatably mounting the rim on the shaft and has a sleeve portion extending in full load bearing relation between the shoulders of the shaft. A pair of opposing clamping surfaces are each positionable in facing, tightly clamping relation against respective ones of the end faces of the rim for limiting relative axial movement between the rim and shaft.
