Patent number: 4823840Abstract: A changeover valve has a valve body formed on a valve rod in such a manner as to be detached from forming molds and easily and securely mounted on a projection formed on the valve rod. The valve body is bisected at the center of the projection on the valve rod and has a mechanism for effectively preventing the downward penetration of compressed air from the edge of the bisected segment. The changeover valve has a valve rod carrying a valve body that switches the flow of fluid between individual ports by coming in and out of contact with two opposite valve seats. The valve rod has an annular projection on which the valve body of elastic substance is to be fitted. While a first annular groove is provided on each side of the annular projection, a second annular groove is cut at the center of the annular projection. The valve body is bisected into two segments that are individually mounted on both sides of the second groove.Type: GrantFiled: December 24, 1987Date of Patent: April 25, 1989Assignee: SMC CorporationInventors: Seiji Kosugi, Yoshio Asou

Patent number: 4810945Abstract: In a numerical control feed device, an objective velocity signal is produced from the difference between command pulses from a numerical controller, which indicative of an objective feed amount and an objective feed rate for a slide of a machine tool, and a feedback feed amount from a pulse generator driven by a servomotor. A subtraction circuit calculates a difference signal based on the objective velocity signal and a feedback velocity signal from a tachogenerator also driven by the servomotor and applies the difference signal to a drive amplifier for driving the servomotor. A frequency-voltage converter generates a feedforward velocity signal depending on the frequency of the command pulses. A gain adjustable amplifier amplifies the feedforward velocity signal at the amplifying ratio designated by the numerical controller and outputs the amplified feedforward velocity signal to the subtraction circuit for addition.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 1988Date of Patent: March 7, 1989Assignee: Toyoda Koki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Takao Yoneda, Haruo Ohmura

Patent number: 4717300Abstract: A headed steel pin for a multi-grip fastener of the pin and swageable collar type has a homogeneous microstructure, and consists substantially entirely of sorbitic tempered martensite. Suitable coarse-grained medium carbon steel is shaped to form a headed pin having a plurality of identical, regularly spaced, annular, combination grooves each able to function alternatively as a locking groove, a pulling groove, or a breaker groove. The shaped pin is heat treated, the steel rendered homogeneously martensitic and then tempered at a temperature approaching as closely as practicable to the lower critical temperature of the steel, to convert the martensitic steel entirely to sorbite. The finished pin has a suitable balance of brittleness, toughness, ductility and impact strength, and tends to break cleanly and reliably at a selected one of the combination grooves when the fastener is installed in a workpiece.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 1987Date of Patent: January 5, 1988Assignee: Avdel LimitedInventors: Zia R.
