Abstract: Fins are arranged on the rotating side of an X-ray computed tomography apparatus. The fins are rotated to generate airflow as the rotating side is rotated. This airflow serves to discharge wear debris to the outside of the X-ray CT apparatus, thereby preventing the wear debris from scattering toward an X-ray tube and support bearing. In consequence, in the X-ray CT apparatus provided with a slip ring, the wear debris produced in a contact space between the slip ring and a brush can be prevented from being scattered in the apparatus.
Abstract: In a medical X-ray CT apparatus, a rotary portion is rotated, and a wind is produced inside the apparatus by the rotation of the rotary portion. An expanded cover portion is forced to vibrate by the wind, and noise is produced. The expanded cover portion is provided with at least one curved member including both ends. The curved member is arranged to extend along a virtual projection line obtained by geometrically projecting a virtual straight line connecting, to each other, the two ends fixed to an outer peripheral edge of an opening of the expanded cover portion onto a surface of the expanded cover portion, and the vibration of the expanded cover portion is reduced.
Abstract: A vent valve, and a vent valve assembly, for a liquid dispensing container, employ a vent disc having small open vent holes in cooperation with an overlying thin flexible flap that covers and closes the vent holes to limit liquid pressure on the holes when the container is upright, yet require little suction pressure to move the flap to draw liquid or vent through the holes. The vent valve can be used in a bottom cap that is attachable to the bottom open end of the container. The vent valve assembly includes such a bottom cap, a sealing member for sealing the bottom cap to the container, and a vent valve. The vent valve and/or bottom cap have an elevated vent disc and a top portion having the thin flexible flap.
Abstract: A nozzle assembly of a vacuum cleaner is disclosed. The A nozzle assembly includes a main casing having an air inlet formed thereto to draw in dust or dirt from a surface to be cleaned, a drum brush disposed in the main casing to brush away the dust or dirt adhered to the surface while rotating in contact with the surface, and a subsidiary brush unit disposed in front of the main casing to preliminarily brush away the dust or dirt adhered to the surface in front of the drum brush, and having a cover disposed in front of the main casing, and a subsidiary brush member to come in elastic contact with the surface. The subsidiary brush member is configured to change a relative position to the cover, and thus to selectively maintain a contact state or a non-contact state to the surface.
Abstract: A method, system, and storage medium for providing versioning of data by associating a version number having a value with a data item, establishing a table for storing a most recent version of the data item, establishing a second table for storing all versions of the data item other than the most recent version, storing the current version of the data item in the first table, storing all other versions of the data item in the second table, and determining the version of said database data item based on the version number and storage location of the database data item.

Abstract: A modular or integral appendage for a septic collection housing having a first section for connected to a lateral side of the housing with the first section having a number of apertures thereon. The first section has a first area. The lateral side of the housing has a second area. The first area is greater than the second area for increased drainage and thus adds capacity to the housing. The second area having a plurality of protuberances thereon.
Abstract: In a read circuit, a write circuit writes a data to be stored and/or a test data to the memory cell. A control circuit controls the write circuit to write the test data to the memory cell in a first phase, and to write the test data which is same as the first phase to the memory cell in a second phase. An integrator integrates voltages at one terminal of the memory cell during the first phase to obtain a first integrated voltage, and integrates voltages at one terminal of the memory cell during the second phase to obtain a second integrated voltage. A buffer stores the first integrated voltage. A comparator compares the first integrated voltage from the buffer with the second integrated voltage from the integrator to obtain the data.
Abstract: A bicycle saddle, in particular, a men's bicycle saddle, has a seat part and a front part. A spring arm and a damping arm are connected fixedly to the front part. One end of the spring arm is likewise connected fixedly to the seat part via a retaining element. One end of the damping arm is not connected to the seat part and, if a force occurs in the genital region, is movable in the direction of an arrow. Damping of the movement takes place here on account of the elastomeric body which reduces a pressure occurring in the genital region of the cyclist.

Abstract: A semiconductor device includes an insulator layer, and an n-channel MIS transistor having an n channel and a pMIS transistor having a p channel which are formed on the insulator layer, wherein the n channel of the n-channel MIS transistor is formed of an Si layer having a uniaxial tensile strain in a channel length direction, the p channel of the p-channel MIS transistor is formed of an SiGe or Ge layer having a uniaxial compressive strain in the channel length direction, and the channel length direction of each of the n-channel MIS transistor and the p-channel MIS transistor is a <110> direction.
Abstract: A bag-on-valve aerosol valve system in a container is provided. Propellant is pressure filled around the valve stem, outwardly over the stem gasket and down into the container space outside the bag. Product is filled through the valve stem into the bag. The valve stem has an exterior intermediate frusto-conical annular surface and the valve housing has an interior frusto-conical annular surface, with both surfaces engaging in annular sealing contact to block propellant access to the bag when the valve stem is deeply depressed to a first predetermined position for propellant pressure filling. A stem exterior surface indent interacts with radially-biased spring-loaded slides to lock the stem in a second less depressed predetermined position for product filling through the stem down into the bag.
Abstract: There is provided a method that includes (a) inputting data to a buffer, wherein the inputting increases a quantity of the data in the buffer, (b) processing the data from the buffer, wherein the processing decreases a quantity of the data in the buffer, (c) determining an average quantity of the data in the buffer, and (d) converting a data stream for inputting to the buffer, from a first quantity of samples to a second quantity of samples, if the average quantity is outside of a target range.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for an improved audio analysis process is disclosed. The improvement concerns the accuracy level of the results and the rate of false alarms produced by the audio analysis process. The proposed apparatus and method provides a three-stage audio analysis route. The three-stage analysis process includes a pre-analysis stage, a main analysis stage and a post analysis stage.

Abstract: A method of regenerating an absorbent includes preparing a reactor having a gas inlet portion and a discharge portion, filling the reactor with a reforming catalyst and an absorbent for absorbing carbon dioxide, feeding the feedstock gas and the steam via the gas inlet portion to the reactor to allow a steam reforming reaction to take place, allowing the absorbent to absorb carbon dioxide generated with hydrogen at the steam reforming reaction, and releasing the carbon dioxide from the absorbent after the carbon dioxide absorption capacity of the absorbent has been degraded. In this method, the temperature in an inside of the reactor is set to 625° C. or more at the release of the carbon dioxide, and an inert gas is fed via the discharge portion to the reactor.
Abstract: An aerosol valve actuator with a top portion rotatable on a bottom portion. The entire top portion in one rotatable position is depressible vertically to actuate the valve. A click post and clicking rib provide a single click in each direction of rotation. Flanges on top and bottom portions interact to stop rotation as soon as each click occurs. Plastic springs interact with spring biasing members only when the top portion is in actuating position, and assure return of the actuator top portion to full upward position for rotation after actuation of even a short-stemmed valve. Downwardly extending flexible connecting flanges connect the actuator top and bottom portions. The top portion has a lower periphery with a plurality of upwardly extending indentations to overlie lateral ribs in the lower portion in actuation position. The top and bottom portions have interfitting cylinders to stabilize the top portion and maintain verticality.
