  • Patent number: 4402424
Abstract: A machine for individually dispensing die cut pressure-sensitive labels from the carrier web of a label train. An AC synchronous stepping motor rotates a pair of drive rolls for a predetermined time period sufficient to move the label train from a supply roll past an infrared detecting member to a discharge end of the machine. The web moves downwardly over the discharge end of the machine and partially discharges an individual label. A microswitch is actuated upon complete dispensing of a label, which sends a pulse through appropriate control circuitry to reactuate the stepping drive motor which advances the label train to partially dispense the next label. The infrared detecting member senses the density difference of the label gap between adjacent labels on the moving web and sends a stop signal to a timer of the control circuitry which will deactivate the motor at the end of the predetermined preset time period.

  • Patent number: 4400328
Abstract: The present invention relates to provide new crystalline zeolite catalyst (ZKU-catalyst) having the superior catalytic activity and selectivity and the long period of the catalytic life. One of the method of said catalyst (ZKU-2 catalyst) lies in crystallizing the starting zeolite preparation in the presence of the crystallization conditioning agent of crystallization of tetraalkyl (methyl or ethyl or combination thereof) ammonium cation.Another method of said catalyst (ZKU-3, 4 catalysts) lies in crystallizing the starting zeolite preparation in the presence of both said conditioning agent of crystallization and the substance capable of forming the seed and/or the skelton of crystal. The ZKU-3 catalyst is manufactured using the seed of crystal, while the ZKU-4 catalyst is manufactured using the seed and the skelton of crystal.

  • Patent number: 4392529
Abstract: An improved method for cleaning a water well by creating a pulsating action at the lower inlet end of the well casing. The well casing is sealed to form a generally airtight enclosure. A water level sensing probe is placed within and extends generally throughout the casing. A vacuum is formed in the well casing by pumping the air therefrom which raises the water column within the casing to a predetermined height. The water level sensing probe signals the height of the water column as it rises within the casing. The vacuum is destroyed upon the water column reaching a predetermined height and the weight of the descending water column forces the water outwardly through the casing openings and into the surrounding strata.

  • Patent number: 4392566
Abstract: A bulk material handling and reclaiming device of a nature that can be added to or substituted in known reclaiming installations. Bulk material such as coal delivered by a conveyor from a mine normally is delivered by a conveyor in large quantities during the period of mine operation to storage areas where it is stacked in mounds covering circular or rectangular storage areas. The new reclaimer has a cage on which a plurality of sets of buckets are moved in either direction by chains to which the buckets are pivoted, the chains endlessly surrounding the cage. The chains are driven to move in either direction in channel tracks. The cage is nonrotatably supported and bodily moved in straight or arcuate paths in either direction toward one or another end of stacked bulk material in storage areas.

  • Patent number: 4389270
Abstract: A composite pressure sensitive adhesive construction contains a central release liner, a layer of an adhesive on each side thereof, and optionally, an exterior release liner on at least one of the adhesive layers. The central release liner and the exterior release liner contain release coatings on surfaces thereof which contact the adhesive layer. The pressure sensitive adhesive construction may be utilized in sealing pipe insulating jackets wherein the exterior release liners are removed and the adhesive construction is applied to the opposite longitudinal ends or sides of the insulating jacket cover. The insulating jacket may then be stored until utilized whereupon the central release liner is removed, the jacket inserted about the pipe, and a sealing connection then made by pressing the two exposed adhesive layers together.

  • Patent number: 4382887
Abstract: A novel glycopeptide is disclosed, which consists of a sugar moiety having a structural formula ##STR1## and a peptide moiety linking to the sugar moiety through N-glycoside bond. The glycopeptide is isolated from organs of normal animals, especially kidney, or urine from healthy human being, and has a biological activity of inducing lesions of kidney in animals. The lesions of kidney induced by an injection of the glycopeptide are very similar to spectrum of human glomerulonephritis. Accordingly, an experimental model for study on human glomerulonephritis is established.

  • Patent number: 4378093
Abstract: A grinder pump cutter assembly having a pair of cutting blades mounted on the cutter disk which extend at a hook angle to substantially the center of the disk. The blade is multi-surfaced, with the surfaces thereof being angled toward the periphery of the disk to break up centralized matter and disperse it into cutting engagement between the disk and cutter ring. Both the disk and cutter ring are also characterized by bores passing through juxtaposed circumferences thereof. The bores each have a hook angle associated therewith to define the sharpness of the cutting edges and to further provide a turbulence of self-purging action within the bores.
