  • Patent number: 6029985
Abstract: Method and structure for making caster and pinion angle adjustment to motor vehicle axle assemblies which have only minimal capability for caster and pinion angle adjustment as originally manufactured including formed adjuster brackets which are attached to an appropriately modified axle mounting bracket. • Patent number: 6029696
Abstract: An air bleed device for a rigid closed housing having a vent hole in a vehicle power transmission system has a baffle portion and a vent portion, connected through a neck portion. In use, the baffle portion is positioned inside the housing and is significantly larger than the vent hole, so it may not be deformed sufficiently to pass through the vent hole. The baffle portion is a pair of planar pieces held in spaced apart relationship by a wall portion which runs along the periphery of the planar pieces and leaves an opening to give access to a plenum between the planar pieces. An outer surface of one of the planar pieces rests against the inner wall of the housing. The vent portion has a collar with a decreasing diameter which may be pulled through the vent hole in a deformed manner and a lower flange-like surface of the collar rests against the outer wall of the housing. When installed in the vent hole, the neck portion provides a frictional fit due to its outside diameter.

  • Patent number: 6027820
Abstract: The invention describes a web having a plurality of discrete labels thereupon which includes a pair of plies in face-to-face relationship with one another, a visible coating on at least one surface of at least one of the plies, the coating being in the form of a repetitive pattern to provide a series of separable web sections, each of the sections being adapted for separation from the web to provide a commodity of substantially identical commodities formed by separation from the web, at least one visible eyemark on the web, and at least one ultraviolet fluorescing eyemark on the web. The eyemarks can completely overlap, partially overlap, or be discrete entities depending upon the end application. The ultraviolet fluorescing eyemark can be a non-visible fluorescing pigment or a naturally fluorescing visible pigment.

  • Patent number: 6021825
Abstract: A stump cutting apparatus for connection to an excavator or other prime mover for conveyance in any ground breaking or farm industry. The stump cutter apparatus comprises a chassis for supporting for supporting stump cutter, a cutting assembly, an engine for providing power to the cutting assembly, an attachment member for releasably attaching the stump cutter to an excavator or other prime movers. The chassis may include one or more support legs or in the alternative one or more wheels to allow for support and easy movement of the apparatus. The cutting assembly comprises of support legs which comprises one or more spikes extending downward to be able to be received by the surface to enable the apparatus to be secure during stump cutting operation. The stump cutting apparatus also has several hydraulic cylinders for supporting the stump cutter by retracting and extending the members of the apparatus and enable to cutter wheel to move to meet the objective of user for cutting stumps and roots.

  • Patent number: 6019740
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a complete body strengthening and stretching apparatus which relies on passive motion provided by a drive mechanism to direct the movement of the back, legs, arms and torso. The apparatus may include a support frame including a base adapted to rest on a floor and provided with a body support for supporting the user in a seated position. In the preferred embodiments, the support frame may include a back rest and seat, or further a body rest and a leg support surface for supporting and working of the lower body. An exercise bar is positioned in conjunction with the frame and is grippable by the user for stretching and exercising the upper body by means of movement of the exercise bar. A linear actuator is coupled to the frame and operates to cause movement of the exercise bar for imparting passive motion to the arms and upper body of the user.

  • Patent number: 6019696
Abstract: A limited slip planet gear for a motor vehicle differential assembly which uses a segmented planet gear having a plurality of fixed plates positioned between a corresponding plurality of planet gear segments. The plurality of fixed plates are preferably keyed to a planet gear pin and the plurality of fixed plates and the corresponding plurality of planet gear segments are compressed using a resilient compression member, for example, one or more belleville type springs or one or more leaf springs to provide limited slip capability to the motor vehicle differential assembly.

  • Patent number: 6016846
Abstract: Pipe insulation sleeve and adhesive construction therefor, having a reduced amount of stress applied to the adhesive. A flexible foamed elastomeric tubular pipe insulation sleeve has a longitudinally extending slit which enables the sleeve or jacket to be placed around a pipe or portion thereof. An adhesive is applied to opposite walls of the slit, forming an adhesive joint, in order to hold the construction together after the insulation sleeve has been placed around a section of pipe. Stress on the adhesive joint is minimized or reduced in either of two ways. First, the tubular sleeve is formed with a V-shaped slit in which the opposite faces or walls of the slits intersect at an acute angle. In a preferred embodiment, the V is inverted (i.e., the open end of the V faces inwardly) and formed essentially along the minor axis of the elliptical shape which the sleeve assumes over time.

  • Patent number: 6018448
Abstract: The present invention relates to a passive electronic component architecture employed in conjunction with various dielectric and combinations of dielectric materials to provide one or more differential and common mode filters for the suppression of electromagnetic emissions and surge protection. The architecture allows single or multiple components to be assembled within a single package such as an integrated circuit or connector. The component's architecture is dielectric independent and provides for integration of various electrical characteristics within a single component to perform the functions of filtering, decoupling, fusing and surge suppression, alone or in combination.

  • Patent number: 6016193
Abstract: A cuvette holder is provided to allow a flow cell optical analyzer to be adapted for coagulation analysis. The flow cell analyzer has a light source and a photo detector defining a first and a second end of an optical path, a vacuum source for drawing a liquid sample through a flow cell positioned in the optical path so that light from the light source passes through the sample, and means for analyzing data collected at the photo detector. The coagulation analyzer has a light source and a photo detector defining the respective ends of an optical path, a cuvette containing a liquid sample positioned in the optical path for passage of light from the light source through the liquid sample, a means for agitating the liquid sample and a means for analyzing data collected at the photo detector.
