Abstract: The invention provides a semi-transparent reflective liquid crystal display device in which bright display, high contrast, and less viewing-angle dependency are possible in a transmission mode. In the liquid crystal display device according to the present invention, a polarizing plate can be disposed on the upper side of a liquid crystal cell in which a semi-transparent reflective layer is formed on a lower substrate and the thickness of a liquid crystal layer in a transmissive display region can be made to be different from the thickness of a liquid crystal layer in a reflective display region by a layer-thickness adjusting layer. A uniaxially stretched phase difference film can be interposed between the polarizing plate and the liquid crystal cell, and a liquid crystal film fixed in nematic hybrid alignment can be interposed between the phase difference film and the liquid crystal cell.

Abstract: In a radar apparatus constructed to perform switching between a plurality of receiving antennas by using a switch, the effect of noise induced by the antenna switching is eliminated. A situation where there is no echo signal from a target is created, for example, by turning off a transmitter amplifier, and the Fourier transformed result obtained at this time is taken as a correction value and stored in a memory. During radar operation, the effect of the noise induced by the antenna switching can be eliminated by subtracting the correction value from the Fourier transformed result.
Abstract: An object is to prevent deterioration in both exhaust emission and fuel efficiency by suitably combining OTP boosting with power boosting. An electronic control unit (ECU) 30 of the present invention is arranged to control a fuel injection amount of an injector 7 to an engine 1 according to an operating condition of the engine 1, and perform OTP boosting of the fuel injection amount to prevent overheating of a discharge passage 3 and a catalyst converter 11 when the engine 1 comes into a high load and high rotation operating condition and perform power boosting that increases the fuel injection amount to enrich an air-fuel ratio to an output air-fuel ratio when the engine 1 comes into a high load operating condition. The ECU 30 executes the power boosting when the engine 1 comes into the high load and high rotation operating condition and executes the OTP boosting later from the start of the power boosting, delayed by a period attributable to at least an increased amount of fuel by the power boosting.

Abstract: The present invention provides an ink set for ink jet recording, an ink jet recording method and an ink jet recording apparatus using the same. The ink set for ink jet recording includes a black ink and color inks including at least cyan, magenta and yellow inks. The black ink includes at least one coagulable agent, and one or more of the color inks is a coagulant-containing color ink containing a coagulant. The contact angle of each of the black ink and the color inks to a recording material is about 50° or less after 1 second of contact. The surface tension of each of the black ink and the color inks is about 40 mN/m or less. The difference between the surface tension of the black ink and that of the coagulant-containing color ink is about 5 mN/m or less.
Abstract: As for a reference valve timing varying rate A obtained by a deviation ?? between a target VVT phase ?T and an actual VVT phase ?, when a varying rate ??th of an accelerator opening degree resulting from the manipulation of the driver is relatively low, a VVT-ECU places a limit on the valve timing varying rate. When the varying rate ??th of the accelerator opening degree is relatively high, it varies the valve timing with the reference valve timing varying rate A.
Abstract: A traffic information notification system for use by a vehicle acquires vehicle travel history data, automatically registers, on the basis of the acquired travel history data, at least one route along which the vehicle usually travels, a time at which the vehicle travels along each of the at least one routes, and traffic information associated with each of the at least one routes. The traffic information system compares current traffic information along a registered route to be traveled provided by a traffic information system with the automatically registered traffic information for that registered route to be traveled, and provides a notification, when the current traffic information is substantially different from the automatically registered traffic information, of the substantially different current traffic information.
Abstract: A method of adjusting a TRC of an image is provided. The method involves receiving an image at an input resolution, resampling the image to a processing resolution if the imput resolution and the processing resolution are not same, processing the image using rank-ordered error diffusion, and resampling the processed image to a desired output resolution for the image if the processing resolution and the output resolution are not same.

Abstract: The present invention provides a thin film magnetic head capable of satisfying both assurance of recording performance and assurance of reproduction performance. In the case where a lower magnetic layer is formed of an iron cobalt alloy (for example, Fe65Co35) which contains iron in a range of 60 at % to 80 at % and has extremely high saturation magnetic flux density of 2.4 T or higher, a head isolation layer formed of ruthenium (Ru) is provided between the lower magnetic layer and an upper read shield layer portion. As compared with the case where the head isolation layer is not provided between the lower magnetic layer and the upper read shield layer portion, the strength of a recording magnetic field increases and a reproduction output of an MR element is stabilized.

Abstract: An information output system in which an output destination management server is provided with an output destination management table for managing a mail address, performance information, and the like for each printer. In response to a search request from a terminal apparatus, the output destination management table is used to search for one or a plurality of candidate printers. The terminal apparatus is notified of the mail address of one candidate printer or the plurality of candidate printers. The terminal apparatus uses the mail address of a designated printer as a destination, and issues an electronic mail including the information to be printed. A printing mail server receives the electronic mail. The information included in the electronic mail is transferred to the designated printer from a print server. Accounting processing is executed prior to the printing of the information.
